Chapter 20 Healing

We made it back to the house after taking a shortcut on the way. Once we got there we let Janus sleep in the guest room. While Wrath slept on Logan's recliner having the least injuries than the other two. I placed Virgil on the couch and went to find the gauze. I came back with the gauze and some disposable wipes to clean the blood. I started with his legs since I was scared to see his arms at that moment. I cleaned off the blood and threw the wipe away. Then I slowly took off Virgil's hoodie and put it to the side. My heart stopped when I saw them all. Something in me wanted me to wake him up and tell him how important he is to me. Sadly I couldn't do it now he needs his rest. I cleaned his arms and wrapped the gauze on them too. He was wearing a black t-shirt so I didn't worry about it getting dirty. I got up from the fold-up chair and grabbed the hoodie as well. Before I left I kissed him in the head and bid him sweet dreams. Then I went to the washroom and I tossed the hooded sweater in the washer with some of my stuff so I wouldn't have the other two complaining about it later. I went to the fridge and got some Crofters and a spoon out and started eating it. I sat down on the other couch and grabbed the remote and started scrolling through channels. Soon I found a random show to put on and I watched it in a bored daze. Soon I saw Patton in the living room greeting me with a smile.

"Heya kiddo are you doing alright?"

"Eh...not really Padre," I said glancing at him.

"You must be worried for him just as much as I am. Probably even more than me you know that?"

"Yeah but I don't even know that I'm the guy that he wants and needs with him you know."

He came up to me and got on one knee and went to my level.

"Kiddo listen to me when I say this ok?"

I nodded weakly in response.

"Virgil is very lucky to have you and you're his hero. Heck, you managed to save him from that guy. He's lucky to have someone as brave and kind as you Roman. I can feel that he loves you with all of his heart and so do you. Don't ever forget that alright?"

"Yeah, thanks, Patton," I said hugging him.

He pulled away from the hug as he heard his name being called by Logan. I didn't notice that tears were welling up in my eyes but I healed back the urge to cry.

"Sorry kiddo I have to go."

"Don't be sorry you're fine," I said with a smile.

He smiled back at me before leaving the room to see Logan. Not even five minutes go by before Patton calls me for some reason so naturally, I go see what he wants. I made it to the room they were in.

"What is it?"

"It was I that wanted you, Roman I just told him to call you so I wouldn't wake Janus," Logan said.

"Oh, then what do you need Lo?"

"Well do you have any bandages that you can spare turns out he has more injuries than I expected?"

"I- um yeah do you want me to get them?"

"That would be ideal."

"Alright, I'll be back then."

I headed to the bathroom to find some spare bandages. I still couldn't get the sickening feeling that I may not have saved the day. Why? I don't know. Soon I found the bandages and I headed back to Logan.

"Here ya go how's the snake doing?" I said tossing it to him and he caught it somehow.

"Well he'll be in pain for a week or two but since we're just facets of Thomas's personality we heal quicker than normal people would." He explained.

"Isn't Remus supposed to be here?"

"Well yes but he's with Patton getting an extra change of clothes for Janus, Wrath, and Remus himself."

"Wait they're spending the night here?"

"Well due to Janus's conditions he won't be able to walk back to their place without any pain."

"Oh alright, Lo."

I was about to leave until his voice stopped me.

"Also I know you touched my crofters so as punishment you need to get me one as well."

It didn't sound like a punishment but I just go with it. I snapped my fingers and it appeared in my hand so I gave it to him. He thanked me and I left the room without another word. I sat back down on the couch and glancing at the show bored out of my mind. I took another glance at Virgil as he was curled up in a ball and holding his arms. The room felt colder than it did before. I got up and went to the closet to get a blanket. I found a light brown one that would do just the trick. I shut the closet door and went back to Virgil's freezing figure. I draped it over him and he eased and clenched onto the cover. My heart fluttered as I saw that unique smile of his once again on his adorable face. I went back and sat down once again and continued the show.

~An hour later~

I heard a groan so I glanced at Virgil with a spark of hope but instead, it was Wrath. He rubbed his eyes and looked at me in confusion.

"What- Why am I here? Where are the others? Is Janus-" He said starting to panic.

"Whoa, calm down bud it's alright now he's gone. You're just here for a night of two because Janus is healing."

"What about Remus?"

"Oh right now he's with Patton right now they won't be back till later."

"Oh...Is he ok?"

I sighed before looking at him once more.

"Yeah, he'll be alright."

"It looks like you really care for him huh."

"I don't just care about him. I love him."

"Roman?" I heard another voice say to me.

I turned around to see Virgil looking at rubbing his tired eyes and looking around the room as if to wonder where he was. He's back he's finally back. Things will finally go back to normal.
