The room was dark, an overhead light provided a small amount of illumination. The walls were concrete, with horizonal metal pipes lining the walls, midway.
"You're late..." Sang a familiar, sickly-sweet voice.
The figure turned around dramatically in the shadows, spinning in a torn red velvet chair.
She was older now, and she had developed into a young woman. Carlos was still taller than her, but she was taller than Raven. She had the same red and black hair, and evil glare in her piercing blue eyes.
She had changed, but she was still Hartley. The Princess of Hearts was still fiercely and unnaturally beautiful, but her beauty didn't have the same effect on Carlos that it once did.
She was wearing a red and black laced corseted top; black and red slashed leggings; black laced kitty sleeves; black stumped boots adorned with red hearts; the heart pendant with black rose painted on it; and a black and red gothic style tiara.
"Sorry, Cupcake. I had a very important date." Carlos quipped, mocking the Princess of Hearts.
She slipped out of the chair and into a crouch, before jumping to her feet. Silently, she crept toward him, until she was intrusively close. Now, face to face with the son of Cruella De Vil, and glaring up at him with her smirking eyes.
Hartley was trying to intimidate him.
She grasped the front of his jacket, and quickly crouched down to her knees, and came slowly upward towards his face; where she pulled in a long breath through her nose.
Is she smelling me? What the f...?
Exclaimed Carlos, internally."You smell like lilies. Tell me, Puppy...why do you smell like lilies?" She challenged, with a creepy glint in her eyes.
Raven.
Shit, she knows. Carlos thought.
"Don't call me that. You know I hate it when you call me that!" Carlos spat.
"Yes, I remember." She laughed, "But, you're avoiding the question."
"Alright," Carlos dismissed, in a calm emotionless tone, further trying to protect himself, "I'm getting bored, Hartley. What do you want from me?"
"Looks like time on your own has hardened you. That's good." She commented, smugly.
"I wasn't on my own, I just wasn't with you." Corrected Carlos, in the same calm tone.
"But, we could change that. Now that you're all grown, and all puffed up-- pretending that I didn't rip out your poor little heart." Hartley taunted, in her saccharin voice.
Hartley stopped and ran her eyes up and down his face and body,
"I didn't expect you to look so devil-may-care, and so very...tempting." She quipped, flirtatiously.
