Millie was in the room with her therapist she's been quiet for twenty minutes and was staring blankly at the wall. She has her legs crossed, while she held onto her necklace fiddling with it with her fingers.
She finally spoke "I talked with Finn. He walked me home the other day to make sure I got there safely" she said.
"that was kind of him to do. What happened between you two?" Winona asked making Millie look up making eye contact with her as she remembers Caleb asking her that last summer.
"Millie what happened between you and Finn before he left." asked Caleb curiously
"I told Finn I love him" she says in a whisper. She hasn't told anyone else not even Sadie.
"Really that's wonderful" says Caleb, he's secretly shipped them for a while now.
"No it's not. it's horrible." her voice breaks "I thought that if I could finally say it, then everything would change" she says with tears falling down her cheeks.
She thought that if she told him those 8 letter words and he said it back they would both live happily ever after but that didn't happen. She didn't get her happily ever after."It's going to be alright" he says as he pulls her in for a hug which she hugs him back while she continues crying. In that moment he understood how hurt Finn had left Millie.
"I just don't get it." she sighed shaking her head. "He leaves and then just randomly shows up a year later pretending that we're okay, like he didn't hurt me. Did I not mean anything to him. I just don't understand"
"I don't want to keep feeling like this." she says softly her voice breaking as she lets out a whimper.
"You told me on a previous session that you wrote letters to him, do you still have them?" the brunette nodded.
"maybe reading those letters that you wrote to him could help. If you want answers to your questions you need to ask him. You need to try to move on, it's time." she suggested giving her a sympathetic smile.
"but what if it never gets better?" she blurted, her bottom lip quivering as her honey eyes started to fill with tears.
what if it never gets better? what if it never gets better? what if, what if, what if...

By the time she arrives to her apartment her eyes were no longer red and puffy, the only thing on her mind was that she needed to move on. When she opens the front door she is greeted by Ayla, who was in the kitchen. She had a water bottle in her hand and her phone in the other.
"hey, do you want to come to another band practice" she asks. At first Millie was ready to say no that she would rather stay home but then she remembered what Winona told her. In order for her to get the answers she needs to talk to him. In order for her to move on she needs to move on from the past.
Millie nodded, she grabbed a sweater before they both headed out of the apartment. The walk to the studio wasn't that long, it was about fifteen minutes away.
Once they arrived Ayla entered first greeting her band mates and then Millie entered behind her saying hello and waving at them. She sits herself on the couch next to Grace who she was surprised to see there.
