CHRISTMAS TREE COOKIES:

ages:
peter: 12
susan: 11
edmund: 9
lucy: 7

"peter! can i help with the cookies?" lucy asked as she clutched onto peters arm.

peter chuckled as he glanced down at his youngest sister.

"of course, lu" he said as he picked her up and sat her down on the kitchen counter. "you can sit there and find the best christmas cookie cutter" he said with a smile.

"hmmm" lucy said as she rummaged through their cookie cutter box. she eventually decided on the christmas tree shaped one.

"this one!" lucy said with an adorable giggle.

"as you wish , my queen" peter said before he pretended to bow to her.

lucy giggled even more at peter as he pretended to bow.

lucy was rather good at using the cookie cutters. once peter had put all the christmas tree shaped dough in the oven, he crouched down in front of it.

lucy, who had always looked up to her brother, also crouched down, following his every move.

" if you look closely, you'll be able to see the dough rise into cookies" peter said as they both had their eyes fixed on the oven.

They both watched for a while and soon enough, the cookies began to rise.
"Wow!" Lucy exclaimed.
"I bet they taste delicious" peter said happily.

The entire kitchen now smelt of freshly baked cookies, which of course caught 9 year old Edmunds attention.

"Pete! You made cookies without me" Edmund slightly complained as he rushed into the kitchen.
"Lucy has been my helper today. You can help me make a Christmas cake tomorrow if you want" peter suggested.

"Yay! That would be so fun!" Edmund said as nodded enthusiastically. He was still holding his toy plane which he had been playing with upstairs.

"They're almost done, Ed. Then we can all enjoy the cookies" peter explained with a smile.

"Why don't you and I go and wait in the living room whilst Lucy and Peter finish with the cookies" Susan suggested to Edmund.

She had been leaning against the doorway, watching the whole conversation unfold.

"Susan, do you want to play planes with me?" Edmund asked hopefully, not wanting to be sat bored in the living room.

Susan gave Edmund a playful smile before picking him up and carrying him like an aeroplane, into the living room.

Edmunds constant giggling could be heard as the two played together until the cookies were ready.

After getting the cookies out of the oven, it didn't take long for them to be cool enough to eat.
"Here you go, Lu" peter said as he put one of the cookies on the plate and handed it to her.

"Thank you!" She replied excitedly before biting into the cookie.
"It tastes so good!" She added.

Peter put the rest of the cookies on a plate and he and Lucy joined Susan and Edmund, where they all enjoyed the wonderful Christmas tree shaped cookies.
