NO MORE WINTER FIRES

EDMUND: 13
PETER: 16

The first Christmas without narnia in fifteen years. That was hard to comprehend.

Peter stared at the family fireplace that stood against the wall of the living room, thinking. He wished to be at cair paravel where the narnians would celebrate for hours on end and the four rulers would all exchange little gifts on Christmas Eve and they would all have a sleepover in Edmund and peters room ( since their room was the biggest in the castle ).

But not anymore. Everything seemed less magical in England. Mainly because there was no actual magic.

Edmund had noticed peters spirits dampen a lot since they had accidentally left their fifteen year reign of narnia.

"Pete..." he muttered, which caused peter to shift her head round to face his brother.
"What is it?" Peter asked, sadness in his tone.

"Well you've been staring at that fire for an hour and haven't moved. What's wrong?" Edmund questioned as he sat on the sofa, next to his brother.

"I miss it." Peter said in a quiet voice.

Edmund didn't have to ask what Peter meant by "it" because he had obviously meant narnia.

"Me too...we all do." Edmund replied as he also turned to look at the fire.

"I remember the endless conversations we'd have in front of a fire outside the castle. One of us would stress about the responsibility of being a king whilst the other calmed them down" Edmund reminisced as he laughed slightly at the memories.

"And then we'd say let's just watch the fire..." peter added with a brief smile.

"And we did." Edmund finished, looking at the flames flickering before them.

"But surely you can find the fun in Christmas. It's the most wonderful time of the year. The song says so" Edmund said with a chuckle.

When peter didn't reply, Edmund pulled peter into a standing position by his arm.

"Where are we going?" Peter asked with a sigh.

"Lucy needs help decorating her gingerbread house. It's a school project and she needs her big brothers. Come on"
Edmund said.

And with that, the once kings headed into the kitchen to help their sister.

(Sorry for the delay on this one 😂)
