"Thanks for this weekend, I had fun." Justin said as he turned in his seat.
"Me too."
"Come in."
"That's a terrible idea."
"I'll make it worth your while?"
"Tempting but I need to go home and tell my mother I haven't died."
"Alright."
"I'll pick you up tomorrow morning before school."
"Okay." Justin grabbed his bag and climbed out the car. He turned to face me once more, "Oh, Aaron?"
"Yeah."
"I love you."
"You fucking bitch." Justin laughed before closing the car door and walking down the driveway. I shook my head fondly before driving to my own house.

"I'm home!" I called out. My mom ran out of the living room and pulled me into a hug.
"Where have you been? I've been worried out my mind, when I found you phone, I worried even more because I couldn't contact you."
"I'm sorry mom, I took Justin away for the weekend and I didn't want to be bothered by anyone from back here, he had his phone off too."
"I know, I tried messaging him and I had Pam on the phone worried about where Justin was."
"I'm sorry."
"Don't do anything like this again without telling me."
"I won't, now can you please let go, you're kinda squashing me." My mom laughed before letting me go. "You're a nightmare Aaron Coady."
"I know."
"So where did you go?" My mom asked as I followed her into the kitchen and sat down on one of the stools. "We went and stayed by the sea for a while, to get away from everything here, I also promised him a proper first date."
"Is Aaron Coady going soft?"
"Shut up, I'm fierce."
"Of course you are love."
"I told him mom."
"Told him what?"
"That I loved him."
"And do you?"
"Yes, I wouldn't have said it otherwise."
"I love you is the hardest three words of the English language to say." My mom announced as she wiped down the counter. "I've been trying to tell him for a couple of days but couldn't, so I thought I'd do it then."
"Sounds romantic."
"I told him not to say it back."
"Why?"
"I wanted to make sure he was ready and actually wanted to say it, he'd tried a couple times before and I told him not to."
"What happens if he is ready to say it?"
"He did."
"When?"
"Just now when I dropped him off."
"Then what are you worrying for?"
"Am I doing the right thing?"
"I don't know love, just don't hurt him."
"I don't want to, obviously, but I feel like saying that actually made it worse, it's going to hurt him more."
"But you meant it, just think things through."
"I have and I just don't know anymore."
