After I had read for a bit, I got settled into bed. But there was much to think about. Mostly about Draco, but also Blaise's poor innocent eyes. He was practically bombarded with intercourse. But, eventually, I did manage to fall asleep. I drifted off thinking all about Draco. Just him and general. He's so incredibly beautiful— in every way possible.
It was finally the weekend, and everyone was more than ready for such a time. I awoke last, all the other girls had already scurried out of the common room. I threw on a white cardigan and a pair of black pants.
I then proceeded to walk out of the dormitory and to the common room. It was... Oddly quiet. And the lights were off, making for a pitch black room, which was even more unsettling.
As I began walking to flip on the light switch, it flickered on from a distance. Light illuminated the room, and I looked around.
I was very surprised at what I saw— a birthday party.
Streamers lined the walls and balloons were tucked into every corner. The students wore party hats, and there was even a table full of food and drinks. I felt my jaw drop open.
Even I had forgotten it was my birthday.
Hermione ran up to me and placed a party hat onto my head, beaming with joy. "Happy Birthday!" She said in harmony with all the other students. I looked around with a huge smile on my face. This was amazing.
Within a few moments the attention thankfully drew away from me, and all the party-goers began chatting with one another, eating, and some of them even dancing.
I wrapped my arms around Hermione, pulling her into a tight hug. Her hand patted my back as my arms lingered on hers. She really is an amazing friend.
Then, we separated, and Hermione commanded me to enjoy myself. She went off yell at some of the students for flinging food near the couches, so I headed over to the food table.
I was amused to see an assortment of breakfast and lunch food. Waffles, hamburgers, hotdogs, sausage, those were just a few of the many, many food items displayed before me.
I picked up a blueberry and looked around, a smile appearing on my face as I saw a certain blond headed boy walking toward me, dressed in a tight t-shirt, which made his muscles look even more spectacular.
I smiled and sat the blueberry back down. "Well, if it isn't the birthday doll." He grinned, pulling me into a hug. I was practically suffocated by his arms tightening around me, but I allowed it, just this once.
"Stop calling me doll." I commanded, my words muffling into his chest. He looked down at me with mischievously eyes. "Never." He whispered, loosening the grip around me.
I backed away from the hug, taking my finger and placing it under his chin, I directed him to look down at me. "Why not?" I asked with a sly grin, looking up at him with wandering eyes.
He smiled and grabbed the hand I placed under his finger, using it to twirl me in a circle. "Because you're my doll." He said with a smile as I stopped spinning.
Though my vision was blurry, I could see those blue eyes of his staring straight at me. I left a gentle kiss on his cheek then scurried over to Hermione and Ginny, who were both chatting.
They both said hello, but I noticed Ginny's eyes were lingering on me a bit more than usual. "So you and Malfoy?" She asked with a raise of her eyebrow. I looked down to hide the redness that grew over my face, then met her eyes again.
"Well, I don't know. We're a thing but not a thing at the same time." I explained. Truthfully, I had no idea what Draco and I are to one another. I'm not sure if I'm just a friend or a lover. Truly it confuses me just to think about.
Hermione seemed to gasp right in front of me. "Oh Y/n I have something really good to tell you." She smiled. I looked at her, furrowing my brows together. It was definitely something spectacular, because knowing Hermione she would've just flat out told me what it was.
"Ok, so," she started, looking at Ginny the whole time- almost like she was nervous, which is quite unbelievable to be honest, Hermione Granger never gets nervous, not about anything or anyone.
"I can't tell you. Ugh! I wish I could, but he would kill me." Hermione's voice was frantic, like she was about to burst from excitement, or maybe worry. But my mind stayed on the fact that she said he.
"Draco?" I asked, trying to figure out if that was the he she was speaking about. She nodded in response, and I finally managed to figure out what she was speaking about. Just as I was about to command her to tell me what she obviously wanted to keep hidden, Draco interlocked his arm with mine, turning me toward him.
"Let's take a walk." He said with a grin. My eyes darted to Hermione and Ginny, who were both giggling as he practically dragged me out of the common room.
As we began walking down the hallway, I turned toward him. "This better be good. You just took me from my birthday party." I said with a smile. He nodded and continued walking. It must be good, I mean, he wouldn't do this without good reasoning.
We walked all the way to one of the courtyards, actually, my favorite one. It's very green and overlooks the sea and the mountains, and there's a giant oak tree right in the center.
We walked to the edge, all the way to where the stairs to one of the sea cliffs stood. It was beautiful. The dark blue water, the mountains with snow just on the top.
And the wind was perfect, too. Not too warm, but not to cold. Just perfect. Draco took my hands in his, then turned me toward him. I had a smile on my face, but his was blank; unreadable.
Then, he said the unfathomable.
"Y/n, would you be my girlfriend?" He asked calmly, blond hair moving across his forehead due to the wind.
