Its been a 3 years since that day. After kokichi's attempt shuichi broke up with kaede for good, they are now in university and live happily with ups and downs but they love each other so they always bounce back.
Shuichi helped kokichi get the help he needed and is still recovering. Kokichi moved out of his toxic household and into dorms with shuichi at university. Kaede ids now dating rantaro and everything that happened with shuichi was forgotten and forgiven.
