y/n pov:

it's been a day since i had that conversation with dally and johnny. the whole night i was thinking of visiting ponyboy to see if he was doing okay but in the pit of my stomach, thinking about him made my stomach twist in turn.

i was walking to the DX hand-in-hand with johnny when a bunch of girls were surrounding sodapop. "i'm not surprised" i laughed. "let's go to the back and visit steve" i nodded and skipped to the back to the back of the station to see steve fixing a red mustang. "isn't that bobs car?" i said. steve banged his head on the roof of the car and looked at me. "whoops didn't mean to scare ya!" i laughed. he groaned and rubbed the back of his head.

"yeah it is and as much as i want to break it more i cant" he admitted. johnny stood next to me and connected our hands together. "when do you think soda-" johnny was cut off by a loud slam. all three of us looked back to see soda out of breath. "those girls are crazy man, tried getting my uniform" soda panted which made all of us laugh. "is ponyboy home or is he at school?" i asked which made johnny look at me.

"yeah he didn't go to school nor do his homework, you can talk to him if you want since y'all haven't talked in a while but i can see the reason." soda said. "don't force yourself to go if your not comfortable" he reassured me. i smiled and looked at johnny who gave a small smile. "it's just gonna be a little chat.." i told him and squeezed his hand. "okay.." he nodded before walking to soda.

"update is when your done alright?" steve said while grabbing his tool box. "yeah yeah you small brain obviously i'm gonna tell you everything" i playfully rolled my eyes and slapped ur back of his head. "your lucky were in public, i would've thrown you out" steve laughed. "idiot!" i felt a hand tug mine. i looked back to see johnny motioning to go. i nodded and hugged both steve and soda, "cyaa!" i smiled brightly which they returned.

as johnny and i walked hand-in-hand i looked over who had his head down. "i know you don't like the idea but whatever happens in that room is gonna happen and as much as i want to go in the future to see what will happen i can't i told him. he looked at me and smiled. "whatever happens even if we break up i'll always be with you okay?" i nodded and kissed his cheek.

i pushed the gate and walked in the curtis brothers house to see twobit and dally drinking beers and playing cards. "is ponyboy home?" dally motioned his head to his room that he shared with sodapop. "he's in there being a depress little shit" two said while placing a card down which made dally practically growl like an animal. "he's a little bi-"
"OKAY OKAY IM GONNA GO SEE HIM..." i cut dally off before he went further. "i'm gonna go watch them play" johnny said which i nodded.

i wakes towards ponyboys room. i exhaled slowly and knocked. "leave me alone" pony grumbled. "it's me, y/n jones" i said quietly before hearing rushed footsteps and soon enough i was facing a sad but happy ponyboy standing in front of me. "y- y/n i didn't know it was you sorry.." he apologized. i shrugged him off with a smile and walked in his room. i sat on his bed and watched as he walked over and sat next to me.

"what are you doing here?" pony questioned as he fidgeted with his sleeves. "o heard about you and cherry and i'm sorry but she told me everything and suggested i talk to you" ponyboy sighed. "i knew that would happen" he said. i inhaled deeply before hesitantly putting my hand over his. "i know you might not think i don't forgive you which i do and all the things you did and said to me.. i moved on from it and-" i took a deep breath, "i wanna be with you, only you" i admitted.

that feeling i had last night was the answer. i loved ponyboy.

"aren't you dating johnny..?" ponyboy looked at me worriedly. "he said it was okay and whatever happens in this room happens and that he's always gonna be with me.." pony exhaled his breath as if he was holding it. "can i ask you something?" pony looked at me and placed his hand over mine. i nodded and smiled at him. "y/n jones, would you like to be my girlfriend.." he whispered the last part. i can tell his face is starting to red up. i jumped over him and kissed him deeply. he wrapped his arm around me and didn't hesitate to kiss me back.

once we pulled away i caressed his cheek. "of course i will" i smiled and rolled off him. "oh my god your really mine.." i nodded and laughed at him. "i'm gonna go talk to johnny okay?" he nodded before kissing my cheek and walking to the kitchen with a big smile. i hugged myself and walked to the living room to see johnny. "can we talk?" he nodded. we both walked to the patio. "i'm guessing things went good for you guys?" i nodded. he rubbed my back and pulled me in for a side hug.

"you know i'll always understand and yes i'm a little sad that we're broken up but that doesn't mean our friendship is gonna end" he smiled down at me as we watched the sunset. "your a great friend johnny.." i hugged him for a moment before pulling away. "let's get inside it's getting a little chilly" johnny suggested.

after everyone had an amazing dinner that darry had made everyone was now going to sleep and crash at the curtis house. unfortunately my aunt wanted me home to spend time with each other and since i was free off school for a few days she thought a girls night would be a great idea. ponyboy insisted on walking me home to make sure i wasn't gonna get cat called by any bobs friends.

"thank you for walking me home" i smiled and rocked the heel of my foot back and fort. a hint of pink formed on his cheek, even though it was dark the moonlight showed his perfect features. "hopefully you get home safely" i kissed his cheek which made him smile. "see you tomorrow" he said, "see you tomorrow" i watched as he walked away.

i was woken to the sound of the phone in my room ringing. i groaned and reached for the phone and placed the cold material close to my ear. "hello it's
y/n jones on the phone.." i mumbled my words almost falling asleep before hearing his voice. "hey cutie" he said in his sleepy voice. i looked at the clock seeing it says exactly 3:00 am. "baby it's 3 am.." "i know but i just wanted to say i love you.." he said before dozing off to sleep. i silently giggled to myself before whispering, " i love you too " and hung up the phone.

Little did Y/n know he was awake just to listen to her say it back..
