Today is the day.

His baby bird was ready to fly out of the nest.

Taehyung saw how Mihyuk and Yu-jun walked out of the apartment holding the few boxed up items that his son had, all he could do is let reality set it. His son was leaving him. He was starting university in two weeks but needed to leave and head onto campus, so that he can memorize we're his classes were, talk with teachers in advance, fix his dorm room and many more. The couple didn't take long, it was rather short. Yu-jun didn't have much because his father didn't have enough for money for materialistic things, only things that they truly needed.

"Can you walk this box down with me?" Yu-jun walked out of his empty room, with a box that contained Jeongguk's photographs. Taehyung agreed, they walk down the corridor, they lived on the first floor, not to far from the entrance, he saw Mihyuk in his small four seated black car, his trunk pumped up for Yu-jun's belongings.

"I have something for you, just wait out here," Taehyung ran into his now empty apartment, finding the pile of handwritten notes he made, they all contained stories about Jeongguk that he didn't tell his son. He dashed down the hallway, seeing his son looking through the glass door building, "I want you to keep this, it's for you."

Yu-jun stepped forward and looked papers that were crumpled but held with  blue paperclip, "What is this, dad?" He wanted to flip through them now, the curiosity was killing him.

"Since last year, I have stayed up all night writing stories about your dad, you deserve to know more that what I have told you. I told you stories about him for the past eighteen years now, I hope this makes up for the rest of the days where I was quiet. I should of been a better father and told you more when you asked but I felt that when you grew up each year, you were old enough to understand and comprehend. These are  roughly four hundred mindless stories about your father and me, hopefully these last you all those days at university."

Yu-jun eyes widened, "four hundred?" Mihyuk turned off the engine as he notice that his boyfriend was having a meaningful moment with his father. "I wrote more stories when I felt I didn't give you much detail in others. Sometimes it was one story a night, sometimes it was three. It adds up pretty quickly. Since this was your sending of, I wanted to give you this. I hope you cherish it, I hope you and Mihyuk come and visit me and Misun. I know she gave you your send off earlier since she had to work but she wanted me to tell you boys that she misses you."

Mihyuk just stared at Yu-jun who was holding the letter's, "Do I have to read them yearly?" Taehyung shouted out 'no'.

"You can read them anytime, promise me that you will. Don't read them now, not in front of me."

Yu-jun promised his father, not in front of him. "I appreciate this, I don't know how to repay you, dad," he wanted to cry but he couldn't, he wanted to be tough for his dad. If Taehyung saw him cry, then he prolong his departure, making it harder than it should be.

"I wish you the best, can I get a hug, boys?" He asked for one big hug from the teens, he's developed a bond with Mihyuk, he's grown soft for his son's partner, he saw him as family.

Both males held Taehyung close, not wanting to leave. They both weren't ready to start a new chapter in their life.

"Please come visit me, call me, if you need more stories, I have more," Taehyung didn't notice his tears coming out, he didn't notice how he was spewing liquid all around, he couldn't let his son go just yet.

No one tells you how hard it is to see your little one's leave.

No one tells you how much time passes until their gone.

He remembers when he saw his baby, the day he was born, he was so tiny. Now, he's finally eighteen and ready to go to a university. How have this years gone down the radar? Now, he's a adult.

"I will, we both promise," Yu-jun spoke for both him and his partner.

Taehyung gave him one last gift, "This is for you, I know I haven't been the best father, I couldn't give you what you wanted, I couldn't afford it but over eighteen years now, I have saved what I could for you. Spend it wisely, son. Go make me proud, study long and hard."

As much as Yu-jun didn't want to leave, they had to. Their was plenty of things to do once he steps foot onto campus.

Mihyuk rolled down his car window for the father and son duo to give their last goodbye's.

Taehyung didn't react when he saw the car finally pull out of the parking lot of the apartments, his arms just started waving automatically, all he could do is let his eye's follow the car until it was out of his sight.

He lightly wiped the tears away from his eyes, he was experiencing empty nest syndrome. He misses his son already.  His brown eyes glanced at the road one more time before he faced the apartments entrance door.

Before he could enter the building, he spotted a male who was holding a gift in his hands, "I came here to find, Yu-jun," the voice of the person said. He was dressed in some tight denim skinny jeans, a black dress shirt along with these black boots that had a bit of a heel to them. His eyes focused on the crying male in front of him.

"You just missed him, Jeongguk," Taehyung ignored the male walked by the entrance.
