Beomgyu, Soobin, Taehyun and Hueningkai were startled when Yeonjun stumbled into the room, falling to his knees. He cried loudly as he clutched his shirt where his heart was and Soobin rushed over to comfort his soulmate.

"Hey, woah, what's wrong? What happened?"

The younger ones had never seen their friend this distraught.

"H-Hongjoong," just saying his name made Yeonjun even more upset.

"What's happened with Hongjoong?" Soobin asked.

"H-he's d-de-ead!"

No one said a thing, they were all shocked.

After Yeonjun had calmed down enough to speak properly, he told them everything. Hueningkai frowned, his bottom lip trembling and he sobbed, his hands coming up to cover his face. Taehyun pulled the younger into a hug.

"Wh-what are we gonna tell his other friends? How-how are we going to tell them?" Beomgyu sniffed, tears rolling down his pink cheeks.

"I don't know. Maybe we should let Seonghwa be the one to tell them," Yeonjun said and the others nodded.

―――

Seonghwa stared at Hongjoong's body, his heart feeling like it was cracking. He let out a sob and his head hung low.

"Pathetic," his father spat as he circled his son. "I raised a pathetic excuse for a son! Crying is for the weak! Only children and women cry! Not men!" His voice boomed throughout the room.

Seonghwa breathed heavily... his hands clenched into fists, veins bulging in his arms. He pulled at his shackles, clenching his teeth at the little movement that caused pain to erupt in his abdomen. His teeth grew sharp, eyes turning black with inky veins spreading under them and spreading up his arms. He growled lowly and snarled at his father. He was seething. He wanted to rip his father's head off and feed it to the hellhounds.

"Take the mortal's body down to Cerberus. I think the hound will enjoy its meal," he grinned.

Seungcheol appeared just as another demon was about to lift Hongjoong's body. "I'll handle this," he said in a calm tone then bent down, lifting the mortal's lifeless body; his skin was pale and his head fell back, his arm hanging by his side. Seungcheol walked by Seonghwa and stopped to look down at the Prince.

"Iris," he whispered and Seonghwa stilled. He continued on his way towards the throne room's doors. The Prince looked back at his friend until he was out of sight then focused on his father.

"I should leave you there like that for a millennium. You deserve punishment." He walked up to his throne and sat down, his ankle resting on his knee.

"You can't choose who your soulmate is," Seonghwa said just loud enough that the King could hear and the old demon tilted his head. "So why punish me for something I had no control over?" He looked up at his father, a smile growing on his lips and he let out a soft chuckle. "I'm shocked that I was ever allowed to keep Luna around."

"I don't think you should have her anymore," the King said.

Suddenly, the doors were opened and a woman rushed into the room. "Seonghwa!"

The said male whipped his head around to see his mother and she was running towards him.

"Elena," the King looked a little surprised to see his wife.

"Mum." Seonghwa was happy to see his mother.

"What have you done to my son?!" She shouted and fell to her knees in front of her son, tears making her eyes glossy. She cupped the male's face.
