Hongjoong gets up out of Seonghwa's lap. He walked over to the door and opened it slightly just as the young officer on the other side was about to knock again.
"Um, can I help you?"
The young officer raised his brows. Hongjoong surprisingly recognised the young man as Officer Lee who came that night when Seonghwa gave him the scar on his thigh; which was months ago.
"We got a call from one of your neighbours saying that they could hear screams coming from this apartment."
When did he scream?
"They said they heard you pleading to someone not to rape you?"
Hongjoong went a little pale. He was that loud? Oh my god, he wanted to facepalm. The young officer raised an eyebrow.
"N-no, I'm fine, that, um..." he didn't know how to answer.
Seonghwa stood up and walked over to stand next to him out of sight behind the door. Hongjoong made the mistake to avert his eyes over to the demon then looked back at Officer Lee who was growing concerned for the young man.
"Are you currently alone?" He asked.
"Um, yeah, I am," Hongjoong lied but Officer Lee didn't believe it and he tried pushing the door open more. Hongjoong put all his weight against the door and this just brought more suspicion.
"Are you sure you aren't being forced to say this?" He asked and pushed on the door to try to open it more.
"What? No, I'm not, I'm fine, seriously. No one is forcing me to do or say anything," Hongjoong shook his head slightly.
"Can I come in just to make sure?"
He slowly nods and lets the young officer in. The first thing he checked was behind the door, which no one was there. Seonghwa had moved to the bedroom so he was out of sight.
"I'm Hongjoong, by the way," he said and rubbed his arm.
The other smiled.
"Lee Doyun," the young man said as he checked the kitchen and lounge room. Just as he was about to check the bedroom, Hongjoong tripped over the rug but he caught himself before he fell. Doyun reached out to grab him just in case.
"I'm okay," he said with a smile that had the officer's heart picking up its pace. He looked down at the rug to see if it needed to be fixed when he noticed something and he grew curious. Hongjoong watched as he crouched down and lifted it. His eyes widened.
"What the—" he pulled the rug away to get a better look. "What the hell is this?" He looked up at the other. "Are you a satanist?"
"No, that's always been there... wait, do you not know the history of this place?"
Doyun stood up. "No, should I know?" He questions and Hongjoong raised his eyebrows in surprise.
"This place was used for a sacrificial ritual back in 1966. A young man was used for the ritual and ever since then, people believe that this place is haunted or cursed."
The other's eyes widen. "Wait, this is THAT apartment? I have heard about it I just forgot until you told me," Doyun said and went a little pale as he looked around the room. His heart raced when he thought he saw something or someone peeking out of the bedroom doorway but when he blinked, it was gone. He looked around again. "What was he sacrificed to?" He focused his eyes back on the shorter man. Hongjoong bit his lip.
"Um, he was sacrificed to a blood demon."
Doyun raised an eyebrow.
"The hell's a blood demon?" He leaned against the back of the couch.
