I'm sensing that Saint is upset with me over something I did earlier today, but I don't know exactly what. He likes to lay out trails of clues on the ground for me to sleuth through. And if I don't get it, he'll flip. Usually when he's upset about something, he would vent it out on our way home as I listen attentively. This time, it is a quiet drive towards Bangsar Hill accompanied by 6lack's 'Loyal' through the car audio on repeat. This song is an indication when he's mad at me for whatever reason, and today is no exception.

"What's wrong?" I initiate a question.

"Nothing," he denies, eyes on the road.

I look out the window, aware that Saint takes us through the winding street within an upscale neighbourhood of Bangsar Hill, bordered by rows of expensive large size houses belonging to wealthy residents with each having its own superlative architectures differ from their neighbours. This is the route to Palmira Loft where Saint lives.

"We're dropping by at your place?" I ask again.

"You're staying with me tonight," he says sternly. "Tell your parents you're having sleepovers at Melinda or just make up any excuses you like."

"Any specific occasion I'm crashing at your place tonight?"

"Do we need to have an occasion for it?" he raises his voice in distress.

Palmira Loft is an exclusive low density tropical themed apartment residence which is a 10-minute drive away from the office. Although I've become its frequent visitor, entering into its luxurious communal garden resembling the Hanging Gardens of Babylon had never failed to impress me like it was my first.

Saint's palatial four room apartment supersedes Freesia Court in many ways. The large living hall that greets us as we enter the property is embellished with a simplistic fusion of Georgian-contemporary interior with minimal yet elegant art pieces. The walls are decorated with paintings and potted plants arranged alternately in V order behind the 60 inch 4K Smart TV.

Each room has its own interior design based on respective purpose and style curated by Sabina. It has one room converted into an ironing room cum wardrobe, separating Saint's casual wear to formal with two respective built-in cabinets. The study painted in olive green is half the size of his bedroom, with a row of full height installed oak wood book shelves occupying one panel of the wall with his desk next to it. There is a 2-seater sofa at the opposite of the shelves where his unattended documents, folders and files are laid.

The guest room which Sabina usually stays reminds me of like a log cabin with its faux wooden walls and parquet flooring covered by a wool shag area rug, a built in rustic closet on one side of the wall, a couple of aesthetic botanical decors on its corners and queen size bed in the centre with its storage underneath. The bed is decorated with vibrant colour cushions and a teal coloured throw that complements the cream bedding.

Saint's room is the master bedroom and the simplest of all as he avoids spending too much time on maintenance and cleaning. The king size bed with its black frame and grey bedding is at the centre of the bedroom facing the navy blue closet and phantom grey carpet covers the wooden flooring giving a perfect ambiance for a man's pad. But above all, I admire the painting on the centre of his bedroom wall, an artwork of hundreds or maybe thousands of small colourful dabs within the colour spectrum that formed two semi-automatic shotguns overlapping over one another diagonally.

The bathroom that resembles those of a plush hotel is in between the master bedroom and the guest room, furbished with light coloured marble flooring and mosaic accents, a shower cubicle enclosed with glass walls and freestanding tub next to it. It is separated into dry and wet areas where the bathroom sink and the toilet occupy the dry area.

Similar to the bathroom, the spacious kitchen that adjoins the dining area is also separated into wet and dry area by a counter island which Saint doesn't often use unless Sabina pays a visit. But this evening, we're having yesterday's chicken tikka on reheat with fried rice from a local eatery for dinner. It was a quiet dinner at first until I decided to clear the air between us.
