This particular story will be broken up into two parts.
Jisoo sat in the corner of a bedroom, looking solemnly out of the bay window at the calming waves of the sea illuminating the full moon. Her body was thrumming with the need to throw herself onto the beach, to feel the waves nibble on her toes as she dug her feet into the sand. No matter how much her heart longed to escape, she couldn't regardless of how hard she tried.
Jisoo caught movement in the corner of her eye, the human who occupied the house stirring in his sleep, relaxing peacefully despite Jisoo's presence. She turned her body fully away from the human, envious at his ignorance while she remained trapped here alone.
It has been a little over a week now, Jisoo determined as she focused on the small calendar perched on the desk of the human, his messy X's covering the numbers. When she first arrived, Jisoo remembered making a mental note of this, her sense of time a bit thrown off by her memory loss.
The first day was the worst, with Jisoo feeling loneliness in every sense of the word. She wanted to cry so badly that night, wanted to break down in frustration, but not a single tear was able to escape. It was almost like she couldn't anymore.
Amidst her panic, she curled herself into a ball with her arms circling around her legs protectively when she caught sight of the calendar. All the days preceding the ninth of December were crossed out, giving her the first clue of when or where it was now that she was trapped.
It was now the eighteenth of December, Jisoo's eyes traced down the row of X's until she focused on the circled date, the twenty-fifth – Christmas. It was cute, she thought, how the human delicately decorated the space around it with an array of snowflakes, all in different colored markers. Christmas was a week from now and she was still completely unaware of her purpose here, why and how she ended up in this predicament in the first place.
She remembered when she first woke up with a splitting headache, ringing in her ears while she blinked up at a ceiling. She had no memory of anything other than a name – Jisoo – which she assumed was her own. When the ringing and the black dots circling her vision slightly subsided, she was finally able to hear the unfamiliar humming of someone in the room. Disoriented, Jisoo attempted to support her weight on her elbows to inspect her surroundings, but she felt as if the weight of the world was crushing her, causing her to defeatedly fall back down.
The humming continued as if oblivious to Jisoo's pain, the voice ultimately soothing her as she attempted to stabilize her breathing. The tune sounded familiar to Jisoo, as a faded memory of listening to the song on full blast during Christmas flooded her mind in overwhelming waves. It must be Winter, Jisoo concluded as the pain in her head began to subside enough that she was able to slowly lift herself up.
She found that she had been sprawled across the carpet of a room, fairy lights hung up on the walls greeting her with their twinkling lights. It didn't take long to locate the source of the humming, a young man seemingly in his twenties sat at a desk, focusing intensely at a laptop as he thrummed his fingers to the beat of the music coming from his headphones. He had sleek black hair parted on his forehead and was currently pairing an oversized black hoodie with a pair of basketball shorts as he typed away at his keyboard while continuing to conspicuously hum to his heart's content.
"Hello?" Jisoo asked hesitantly, clutching her head as she tried to gain the male's attention. She had an infinite amount of questions to ask ranging from where was she, how did she get here, when was it – what year was it, to the one she desperately wanted to ask, 'Who the fuck are you?'
The male continued nodding his head to the music, his full attention focused on the screen. Jisoo crossed to the other side of the room, deciding to tap the male on the shoulder to get his attention, figuring that his music was probably on full blast in his headphones.
