✩ Chapter 35 - Fireworks ✩

• Draco's POV: •

My eyes followed her back as she sat in her chair. I shift my body to the right to get a clearer view; Her beautiful long hair flowed over the chair and just below her lower back, I couldn't keep my eyes off her, even though I couldn't see her face but it didn't matter.

Eventually, all the students had sat down and we had started the examination. I continuously tapped my foot against the floor hoping it would jog any memory of revision back.

Nothing.

My mind kept flowing over to Jade; how her soul is pure and beautiful but she can be a mischievous every now and then, and I loved it, I couldn't believe how lucky I had got. And she was so- No, Draco get yourself together. I looked back to my paper and read the question over and over in my head.

'Question 9: Which charm does the Liberacorpus neutralise? What would be an alternative spell to have the same effect?' I thought repetitively. Right, I know it's the reversing levitation spell... But that's all I can remember. I grab my quill angrily and start to write some bullshit down, anything is better than nothing.

I caught myself looking at Jade's back, again. I shake my head and look back at my work, carrying on to write anything that pops into my head. I'm at top of every class, and I'm normally very good with my work but out of all the days I needed to remember stuff I can't? It's fixed.

After a while, I put my quill down in defeat and lean back into my chair. I watch as other students carry on writing, I roll my eyes and divert my eyes.

Very faintly I hear a bang come from outside the Hall. I look at others as they all question the sound. It gets louder as most of us turn around. I look forward and glance at Jade who was staring back at me with concern. Another loud bang goes off as I move my eyes to look at Umbridge strutting down the middle towards the doors. She looked pissed. Her heals clicked loudly as her footsteps echoed the hall. Everyone watched her intensely as she opened the heavy doors and stood still, looking forward. A second later a small ball of light shoots into the hall and splits into 3 creating loud pops and sparkle noises. Fireworks? Where did they come from though?

Umbridge stepped further out the doorway and looked around. A faint wizzing noise got louder and louder. What the bloody hell could it be?

Not a second later, Umbridge stumbles back as 2 students on brooms fly into the Hall. They fly past the desks as our papers fly in the air. I get a closer look to see it was the Weasley twins. I scoff but start to smile, this was quite funny. More fireworks shoot in the air as students start to stand up in amazement. The twins carry on wizzing around the Hall letting off fireworks.

Crabbe and Goyle come over to me surprised. I look over to Jade and suddenly it's like I'm watching her every movement in slow motion. I admired her, she looked so beautiful and happy. I watched as a small ball floated down in front of her and set off multiple little fireworks in her face. She smiled and admired them. I smiled at her happiness.

They stopped going off as her eyes met with mine. I started to walk to her till Goyle had a little firework in his face. He screamed as I moved away. It stayed very close to his nose as he batted it away. It moved past me and to Crabbe who then got scared and ran off as it was popping on him.

I looked over to Jade as she laughed. Fireworks started getting closer to the ground as I tried to duck some, I was leaning against the wall when one came straight at my face. I watched it slowly come close to me as I dodged it quickly and looked back to see it hit the wall but my face was imprinted on it, scared. I looked away in anger and saw Jade looking up to the ceiling as I slowly calmed down.

The fireworks went off here, there and everywhere. Eventually the 2 in the air hovered for a quick moment till one of them let go of something as it popped into a couple of fireworks but then took the form of a Dragon. It looked down and into the direction of the Bright pink lady. She looked scared as it roared and started to move closer to her, with its mouth wide open. I watched as it chased her out of the hall close on her tail. She got to the doors stopped and ducked as it closed it's mouth.

They turned into small fireworks as they all shot up to the wall behind her as the sound of glass shattering could be heard. We all stood still as we watched the papers and sparks fly down. A second later all the plaques had fallen and created loud bangs as they hit the floor.

The 2 Weasley's wizzed past Umbridge as she squealed and the students cheered. They all ran past her and to the courtyard as I slowly walked out, standing by the outside doorway keeping my distance from the other students. I watched as more fireworks were set off.

I looked to my left and see Jade standing near me. She looks over to me and smiles while continuing to walk out the yard. You know what? Not today. I grabbed her back as she now stood in front of me, her back pressed against my chest as my arms wrapped around her shoulders. I don't think she minded at all as she laughed and held my hands.

I moved my head forward to see her smiling brightly and laughing. She turns her head to me and stop.

'This is it, if you want to do it then this is the chance' I think. Quickly, I crash lips into hers as she kisses me back and my hand makes it's way to the back of her head. She smiles into the kiss as the loud noises of clapping and fireworks fade out in the background.

She pulls away as her cheeks flushed bright red as she stares into my eyes. I missed her so much, it hurt not to be with her.

She stood in front of me with her back pressed against my chest again as we enjoyed the fireworks. She looks back at me and takes my arms off her shoulders as she smiles and jogs over to Caitlin who was signalling to join her. I smile as I watch her jog away. I lean my side onto the wall as I look up to the sky to see a massive "W". I slowly clap as I appreciate the scene in front of me.

• Jade's POV: •

I felt arms wrap around my waist and pull me back. I look back briefly as I press myself up to Draco. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and I held his hands fiddling with his rings. I knew we weren't dating but this felt right, I missed this. The simple things like this, I missed it all. Caitlin stood in the yard not noticing I wasn't next to her but she cheered.

Draco's head looked at me from the side as I turned my head to the right to be directly in front of his face. He stares at me for a moment before his lips crash into mine. I wanted to pull away so bad, but I didn't. I kissed back. I smiled into the kiss as his tongue traced around my mouth. One of his hands moved from my hand and was placed onto the back of my head pushing me even closer to Draco.

I pulled away as my cheeks burned red hot. I couldn't help it, he made me blush. Like that was hot, how could I not? I turn around and look up to the sky as his arms wrap around me again. I didn't mind this, not at all.

I get snapped out of my thoughts to see Caitlin gesturing for me to go to her. I take Draco's arms off my shoulders as I look back at him and smile. I turn around and jog over to Caitlin as I take her arm in mine and smile to her.

"He kissed me" I shout over the crowd. Caitlin stops clapping for a second as she looks over to me shocked.

"WHAT! Really? Was it good? Bad? How'd you feel?" She questions. I laugh and nod my head at her.

"It was good, I wanted it to happen, I missed him." I say back in awe. She smirks and hugs my side as we laugh and clap once more. We look up to the sky to see the big "W" and 2 faint dots between it.

After a while the clapping eventually dies down. At one point I saw Hermione, Harry and Ron rushing off together, but I tried to take no notice of it. Me and Caitlin head back inside as we walk back to the Common Room. Today had not gone to plan at all, but I was ok with it.
