Davina looked up as everyone started to leave. As she looked over, she noticed Draco was in his own world also. She nudged his arm slightly and they got up together, walking out of the Great Hall.

Somewhere through the crowd they lost one another, but it didn't bother Davina too much seeing as they were headed to the same place; the dungeons. She always thought it was obvious who the favorite and least favorite house was, seeing as the Slytherin's common room was underneath the Black Lake whilst Gryffindor got one of the highest towers in the castle.

She pushed past a couple Hufflepuffs without any shred of acknowledgment as a third years books scattered onto the floor and soon got stepped on.

Her body was moving, walking, swerving in between kids and walking down staircases. She was psychically in Hogwarts. But, her mind was in a different place, she wasn't mentally here; she was in someplace dark, distant, and lonely. She was somewhere cold.

And she probably would've stayed there if she hadn't of felt a hand grab her shoulder, bringing her back. She looked over as she saw Potter, his nose was fixed — something Lovegood must've done. He grabbed her wrist and pulled her off into an empty room.

"What happened? With us? I thought we were actually starting something. Did I do something wrong?" Potter looked at her, slightly out of breath. She had just now realized how fast she had been walking, he most likely had to run to catch up to her.

"You didn't do anything wrong, Potter," She stared at him, trying to keep her composure as she saw the hurt in his eyes. Them damn eyes.

"So what's wrong? What changed? What happened to you that was so life-changing you decided to cut me off again?" He pried, practically begging for answers.

She didn't want to have this conversation, she couldn't. She pulled her hand away from his and started to push open the door. He grabbed her arm and pulled her back, pinning her up against the wall. The whole atmosphere instantly changed, they were closer than before and he was looking down into her eyes with that piercing look that made her want to melt instantly.

"I'm bad for you, okay? You're an idol, what every witch and wizard has looked up to since you were born. You're what everyone dreams to be like, and I'm nothing but a nightmare. You're this bright light that shines and shows the path for everyone and I'm the darkness that blinds their sight. I'm the exact opposite of what you are," Davina looked up at him, she felt tears wanting to swell up in her eyes but she forced them back down.

"There isn't any light without darkness," He looked down at her, cupping her face in his hand as he brushed his thumb against her cheek, wiping the one single tear that managed to escape.

"I love you, Harry Potter," The words slipped from her mouth like silk, she didn't even have time to stop herself as they did but she knew she meant them.

"I love you, Davina Malfoy,"

"Attention to detail in the preparation is the prerequisite of all planning—" Slughorn was caught off as Potter and Weasley walked in.

Davina merely glanced over before looking away. She had to keep whatever it was between her and him secret. Snape was constantly watching her and Draco, as he swore to do so. She couldn't be seen associating with the enemy.

Potter decided to keep it secret as well, although their reasons were very different from one another. His was because his friends hated her, and she had used Draco as an excuse although she knew the real reason : she was being watched, spectated, the fate of the entire wizarding world rested on her shoulders.
