Movie Nights and Nightmares[ Angelika and Peter decide to stay up late and watch movies together. But they can hear Bucky tossing and turning in the night, so the pair decide to be heroes- this time to their family. ]
WHEN PETER REALIZED ANGELIKA had never once caught a glimpse of Star Wars, he was absolutely appalled. He had looked at her like she'd grown a second head and was continuing to grow a third one as he sputtered nonsense. She'd never seen Peter overly speechless, so when he decided to take her average Friday night and turn it into a Star Wars marathon, well, she let it happen.
It was well past midnight by the time they reached the fifth movie, and Angelika had to admit she was impressed. She didn't have much time to watch TV, and when they did in Wakanda, everyone had failed to culturally appropriate her with Star Wars.
She leaned into the couch, practically sinking into it as Peter popped a piece of popcorn into his mouth besides her. She leaned her head against Peter's shoulder comfortably as she stole his popcorn.
"Wait-Wait you're gonna miss it." Peter hissed, swatting her hand away.
Angelika rolled her eyes lightheartedly, before returning her gaze to the screen. She copied Peter's intense gaze as she watched Darth Vader speak to Luke, who was now missing an arm and clinging to something that looked remarkably close to the helicarrier's bottom cavity.
"No Luke, I am your father." Darth Vader said, breathing heavily through his helmet-mask.
Angelika leaned back on the couch, raising an eyebrow at Peter who was giving her an encouraging look. His smile slowly formed into a frown as he took note of her nonchalant and unsurprised look.
"That's supposed to be like- the biggest twist!" Peter exclaimed, throwing a piece of popcorn at her.
She caught it easily with her mouth and chewed loudly, before shaking her head.
"Nah, Agent Murphy was arguing with Commander Rumlow about watching movies in one of the safe houses during a mission, and they were throwing cans of beer at each other so Agent Rollins told Agent Murphy, 'Darth Vader is Luke's father', and slinked down the hall, leaving him horrified." Angelika explained, grabbing a handful of popcorn.
She watched as Peter's face twisted with horror, then betrayal as he pointed an accusatory finger at her.
"That's terrible- but you have watched this then!" Peter gasped and she shook her head.
"No, I didn't know this was Star Wars until now. Cool twist though." She said with a shrug.
Peter looked like he was going to fall backwards off the couch- if that was even possible- and lay there for hours, just to grieve for the fact Angelika had Star Wars spoiled for her years ago.
"Well," Angelika said, turning back to the screen, "I still haven't watch the rest of this so-"
She waved her hand, beckoning Peter to click play- she didn't even notice he'd paused it in the first place- and he huffed. He grabbed the remote and pointed it at the screen just as a loud crash resounded from down the hall.
Angelika jumped, grabbing a couch pillow and holding it above her like a shield. Peter reacted similarly, though less extremely as he jumped to his feet, alarmed and cautious.
"FRIDAY?" Peter whispered and the ceiling glowed lightly.
"Yes, Peter?" FRIDAY replied quietly.
Angelika swallowed thickly, putting the pillow back on the couch and inching closer towards Peter.
"Was that an intruder?" Angelika whispered.
