1 Year Later...

1 year later, that first meeting after the breakup had gone well. Joe and I started out just being friends and finally became boyfriend and girlfriend officially about 2 months ago. Kevin's leg had healed just fine and he was back to doing everything he'd ever done before. Kevin and Dani had bought a house in New Jersey and had insisted, well Dani insisted, that I move all of mine and Cami's things into their new house. Kevin and Dani now have a 1 month old baby girl, Clara.

Cami, who is now 4, loves helping "Aunt" Danielle take care of baby Clara. Since Clara was born, the whole Jonas family was staying in Kevin and Dani's house to help them with getting into the routine of taking care of a newborn. Nick had begun performing in a show on Broadway and Joe has just left to go on a trip to Africa something he'd wanted to do for quite some time. He tried to convince me to go with him, but I decided that taking Cami to Africa with us wouldn't be a good idea. We kept in touch constantly though, either calling each other or video chatting. He was going to be gone for 2 months, so, in the meantime, I was splitting my time between taking care of Cami and helping Dani with Clara and planning an upcoming tour to promote my new album.

One morning, a week after Joe had left, I sat up in bed at 8:30. I got up and padded into the bathroom. Once I had used it and come back out, I walked into my closet. I changed out of my pajamas into a comfy pair of sweats and a cotton tank. I walked out of my room to peek in Cami's room. I saw she was still asleep so, I let her keep sleeping and tiptoed down the stairs to go to the kitchen to make breakfast for the family. I was surprised to hear a knock on the front door just after I had made it to the kitchen. I walked back and opened the door. It was Nick.
"Hi, Kenzie," He greeted me. We chatted in the kitchen as we made breakfast together. He had finished his run on Broadway the day before and was returning home for now. As Nick and I finished eating our breakfast, Denise walked into the kitchen in her fuzzy robe.

"Wow, Kenzie, I didn't expect you to make breakfast for everyone," she was shocked, "Thanks, that's really sweet."
"You're welcome," I started to blush a little, "I was glad to do it. And cooking helps me relax a little," Before anyone could say anything else my phone's ringtone, "When You Look Me in the Eyes" started playing, I looked at the screen, saw who was calling me and said, "I have to take this, I'll be right back." Everyone knew who was calling me since I had a different ringtone for everyone in my phone. And with that I dashed outside onto the front porch to answer it.
"Hi," as I answered my phone.

"Hey, Kenz, how are you?" Joe asked.
"Still waking up, but not bad. You having a good time over there?"
"Yeah, I love it here. I wish you were here too though."
"I wanted to, but I have so much to do to get ready for tour and taking care of Cami. I set up to meet with the people who are outfitting my tour bus later today."
"Sounds cool, wish I were there to see it with you. Make sure you send me pictures of it since you'll be gone by the time I get home."
"I will, and you send me pics of Africa so I can see what you're doing, got it? Well, I'd better get going, Cami's probably waking up by now. Bye for now, I'll call again as soon as I get a chance while I'm on tour."
"I will, and make sure you do. Bye."

And that was the end of our phone conversation. I went up to Cami's room, went in and knelt by her bed. Since it was now pushing 9:30 I'd decided it was time to wake her up.
