Pregnant?

Finally, my nurse, Becky, came in, said hi and began to run a series of tests to see if something was wrong to make me feel bad. When she came back she had a slightly puzzled look on her face.
"What's wrong?" I asked, "What did your tests say?"
"There's nothing wrong, exactly," Becky tried to explain, "but there is something you may or may not be expecting."
"What is it?" I insisted.
"You're pregnant," Becky finally came out and said it.

"What?" I was in shock, "I'm pregnant? How long?"
"About a month. Are you still involved with the father? When was the last time you saw him?" Becky asked.
"Umm, well, I'm not married if that's what you're asking, and it has been about a month since I've seen him, but we talked just a couple days ago. I can't believe it," I tried to explain.

I drove home and immediately went to Cami's room to make sure she was ok. When I discovered she was fine, I went to my own room to call Joe and tell him my problem.
2 rings later and he answered, "Hey, Kenz, I wasn't expecting you to call so soon. What's up?"
"Um, I, I mean, we have a problem."
"What is it?"
"Something that my parents are probably going to have problem with."
"Yeah, and?"
"Joe, I'm pregnant."

"What? Are you serious? How long and when did you know?"
"Yes, I'm serious, I just found out a half hour ago and about a month ago. You remember that one night on tour?"
"Oh..... Yeah, I remember," he finally said, "What are you going to do?"
"I don't know, what do you think I should do?" I asked.
"Well, first, you are 100% certain that I'm the father, right?" he asked.
"Yes, Joe, I'm absolutely certain," I reassured him, "You are definitely the father."

"Well then, I think you should come back home so we can raise our baby together," he said.
We talked for a few more minutes before finally hanging up. And I went to go talk to my parents. They weren't happy about it and insisted that I had to move into my own condo in Newark. Since Livvie had insisted that I had to be the one to raise Cami they were allowing me to take her with me, but they were adamant that I wasn't to reconnect with Joe ever again. After they told me that, I didn't bother to mention that I'd already called him and that he already knew that he was going to be a father.

I couldn't risk that my parents would try to take custody of Cami from me if I traveled back to Joe's family's house, so, I decided that it was in mine and Camryn's best interests to have Dani ship our things out to our new home in Newark. Once we got everything shipped out and settled into the apartment and my pregnancy was just beginning to show, I listened to my new voicemail and discovered that Joe had called and left 8 different messages. I then decided during the last month of my pregnancy that I'd send him the following letter:

'Dear Joe,
I'm so sorry. I know a letter worked the last time I wrote you one, but I'm very well aware that this might not work. I told my parents that I'm pregnant and that you're the father and they insisted that I get my own apartment back east and I was to have no contact with you or they would fight me for custody of Camryn. Joe, I can't lose her, she's the last piece of my sister that I have left. But I thought you at least deserved to know that I'm ok and our baby is doing fine according to my doctor. Please don't try to contact me. If you do, my parents might carry out their threat. I'll never forget you,
Kenzie'

I had taken some shifts as a nurse at the local hospital while still writing some lyrics to possible new songs. I continued working at the hospital until I was 8 months very heavily pregnant and then started to relax while waiting the final month before my baby was born.
