For the next month Dani and I continued preparing for the wedding. We called and kept in touch with a catering company in Hawaii to keep them up to date with what we wanted on the menu for the reception. Dani, Connor, Cami, Clara and I all packed a suitcase and traveled to Hawaii in advance of the rest of the family. Because I hadn't gotten along with my parents in so long, and since I'd grown up as almost a sister to Danielle and another daughter to her parents, they agreed that they'd be my acting family at my wedding, which meant that Dani's father would be the one to walk me down the aisle. One month before the wedding, the rest of the Jonas family joined us in Hawaii to put the final touches on the wedding. It went very well and Joe and I stayed in Hawaii for our honeymoon while Kevin and Dani took Cami and Connor back to stay with them. When we finally alone, Joe revealed that he had a surprise for me. He promised to tell me as soon as he got back from a surprise press conference.
I was sprawled on our bed reading when he walked in the room. I rolled onto my back as he came over to the bed, sat down staring down at me and began to stroke my cheek.
"Hey, so, what's this big secret?" I laid my hand on his leg as I put my book down.
"The secret is, I know that you thought this stay in Hawaii was our honeymoon, but I actually have something else planned. Somewhere I know you've been wanting to go," Joe told me.
I sat up, wrapped my arms around his neck and curled my fingers through his hair, asking,
"Where? Joe, what is your plan?"
"Well, you know, my brothers and I have a mini-tour planned once we head back home. But in 4 months we'll be headed for what is considered one of the most romantic tourist spots in the world. Paris."
"Paris?" Are you serious?" I squealed and kissed him.
One week later we were on an airplane headed back to our new house in L.A. where Kevin and Dani were meeting us to bring Cami and Connor home.
Immediately Joe began meeting with his brothers to plan the shows. While he was at the studio with them one day, I had begun to suspect that I was pregnant again. So, I scheduled an appointment to see my doctor and she told me that I was indeed 2 weeks pregnant. On my way home, I stopped at the grocery store to pick up a few items to take home. I walked into a local Walmart, picked out a cart and began to stroll through the aisles to see what I was getting. I had Cami and Connor with me and we were almost finished shopping when Connor started to get restless so I said,
"Connor, if you're good and stop whining, I'll let you pick out a toy. Cami, you can pick out one too if you want."
The promise of a new toy got him to quiet down real fast. I was able to finish shopping and then pushed the cart with Connor in the cart seat over to the toy section with Cami following. She went to the princess section to pick out her toy while I waited while Connor looked over the superhero toys till he picked out a set of Batman action figures. He was holding the package in his hot little fingers when we walked over to where Cami was still undecided about which toy she wanted. She finally picked out the only Cinderella play set on the shelf that she didn't already have. When we got back home, I started to put the groceries away while Cami went to her room to play with her new toy and Connor spread out his new Batman figures on the living room coffee table.
We also had set up an appointment with our lawyers to come to our house to go over the papers to officially adopt Cami, change her last name to Jonas and change Connor's last name from my maiden name to Joe's name. The lawyers got there at about 3 pm and I showed them in to the dining room table while I went into the kitchen to call Joe. I grabbed my Iphone, chose his name from my speed dial and
waited for him to pick up.
"Hey, Kenz, what's up?" Joe answered.
"The lawyer just got here. Where are you? Oh, and when we're done and the lawyer leaves, I have a surprise for you," I said.
"Alright, Kev, Nick and I are just leaving the studio. We should be there in about 15 minutes," Joe answered. We both then hung up. Joe got home exactly when he said he would be and we went over all the necessary paperwork and signed where necessary to officially adopt Camryn. Her name is now officially Camryn Olivia Jonas and Connor's name is now Connor Joseph Jonas. As soon as the lawyers left, we put Cami and Connor to bed and crawled into bed ourselves.
"Alright, Kenz, what's your big surprise?" Joe asked.
"The big surprise, Joe, I'm pregnant again," I said, as I waited for it to sink in and him to respond.
"Wow, really? How long? How long have you known?" Joe finally asked.
"I was just at the doctor today and she said I'm 2 weeks along," I told him.
I laid my head down on my pillow as I rested my hands on my belly. Joe lay sideways with his hand resting on top of mine. I woke up the next morning with my head resting on his chest. He was still sleeping and since I was ready to get up, I slipped out from under the blankets, gently moved his arm which was still resting on my belly. While he was still sleeping, I went into the bathroom to shower. When I came out wrapped in my towel to get my clothes, he was still asleep and Connor had come in and was sitting right outside the bathroom door waiting for me to come out.
    "Momma," Connor whispered, "I'm hungry."
"I know, sweetie," I knelt down and whispered back, "just let me get dressed and then we'll go down and get breakfast."
When I came back out of the bathroom now dressed in sweatpants and a cotton tank, I realized that Connor had leaned his head against the wall and drifted to sleep again. So, I lifted him up and carried him back to his own bed and tucked him in again. Then I went back to where Joe was still sound asleep. I lifted up the blankets and climbed in, lying down on my side half curled protectively around my belly. I also reached for his hand and gently pulled it around me placing it just as protectively on top of where our baby was growing.
