Wedding Preparation

The rest of that month was spent organizing the wedding. Everyone always seemed to be running around here and there doing something. Denise was organizing the catering and helping plan the menu. Dani and I were in charge of dress and suit styles, as well as the colors that would be used for everyone. We were also in charge of picking floral arrangements and invitations. Kevin and his dad were pretty much just leaders controlling who did what when and when deliveries were made and where they were going. Joe, Nick and Frankie bounced around doing whatever needed to be done or doing fittings for wedding attire as Dani and I were deciding what we wanted. One week before the wedding, things got really crazy. The big task then was getting a huge tent assembled at the wedding location which was about 5 miles from the Jonas house. Then the jobs were setting up chairs for the ceremony and tables in the back for the reception afterwards. And of course on top of everything I was doing I had to juggle taking care of Camryn. Fortunately, the whole family was being very nice about helping me take care of her.

So, exactly 7 days before the wedding, I was in my room pulling on a halter dress with an open-front cardigan over it since it was getting to be winter soon. I had also pulled out Camryn's outfit of jeans and her current favorite long-sleeved "Elmo" shirt.

"Alright, Camryn, let's go settle you in downstairs so that Aunt Kenzie can go help Miss Danielle," I cooed to my niece as I picked her up, settled her on my hip, gathered up the last of the wedding invitations that I had finished the night before and walked out the door closing it behind me. I carried Cami down the hall to Dani's room where I poked my head in the door and said,
"Dani, here are the last of the invitations that we're giving out at the guys' show tonight. I gotta take Cami downstairs first and I'll be right back to help."

"Great, Kenz, could you take this this first floral arrangement chart that we finished to Kevin and tell him we'll have the last finished before the show tonight? And I finally finalized the reception dessert menu, could you take it to Denise for me?" Dani asked, handing the papers to me as she was taking the invitations.
"Sure, Dani, I'll be right back."

I left there with the new papers trying to decide what order to do these three tasks in. Finally I decided to go to the kitchen first.
"Denise, Dani asked me to give you this dessert menu that she finished up," I said as I shifted Cami to my other hip, "Wow, Cami girl, you're getting heavier by the day, I think." She answered me by babbling on in baby talk.
"Thanks, Kenzie, now I have to figure how to get that done too," Denise sounded frazzled.
"If you need help, I can come as soon as I'm finished helping Dani with a few more things," I offered.

"Thank you, I'll let you know. At least in a week things will settle down a little," she sounded a little better, "oh, no, when you're done with Dani will you find the boys and help them plan their wardrobe for tonight? The wardrobe lady called and canceled on us at the last minute."
"Sure, I can do that," I answered as I was already halfway out the door. I was headed for the music room where Joe was waiting for me.

"Hey, I was beginning to think you weren't coming," Joe said, as he took Cami from me and kissed me on the cheek.
"Sorry, I've been running about a hundred different directions since I got up this morning," I sighed finally being able to sit for about 2 seconds so far today, "Oh, your mom told me to tell you that apparently your wardrobe lady canceled for today, so, as soon as I'm done helping Dani with whatever else she needs help with, I'm going to round you boys up and we'll get that done. Are you sure you don't mind watching Cami for me?"

"No, babe, I don't mind at all," Joe said, "We'll have lots fun together, won't we, Cami?"
"Thanks, that'll make me move faster if I don't have to constantly watch her," I said as I picked up my papers and started on my way out the door, "Gotta go again, gotta give something to Kevin. See you later, sweetie."
