Harry POV
After the welcome feast, we headed up to Gryffindor Tower. Don't get me wrong, it felt good to be back but it was strange. The memories were hard, of course and people looked at me differently. I had always got a lot of attention, but it was different now.  Before, it had been more, sort of, curiosity whereas now it was a mix of admiration, respect and even some fear. I'm not sure that is the best word to describe it but there were many, mostly those in younger years, who would have previously gawped at the sight of me and now wouldn't meet my eyes. It was unsettling.
This did make me appreciate my friends more though. I was glad they were there for me, even if few others were.
"You coming Harry?" Ginny asked as I paused in the corridor overlooking the courtyard.
"You guys go ahead, I'll catch up in a minute." She followed my gaze before giving me a sad smile and walking off. As much as I did love and appreciate them, I still needed a bit of space sometimes.

I don't know how long I had been stood there when I heard a soft voice at my shoulder.
"Hey Harry." I recognised it immediately.
"Luna." I looked over my shoulder with a small smile.
"About as well as you by the looks of it."
I sighed. "I don't know if I'll ever get used to this attention. It's different to before."
"Is it? Or are you different."
"Well... I mean... I don't know." She looked at me with raised eyebrows. "Maybe both." Me eyes fell to the yard below us.
We stood there for a moment in silent understanding. Luna looked back at me. "It'll get better you know, life always does in the end." And with that, she skipped away.
Watching her go, I thought about what she said and realised, not for the first time, how true a Ravenclaw she was.

I finally made my way into the Gryffindor common room not long after to find Hermione, Ron and Ginny huddled in a corner whispering.
"Hey guys, what you talking about?"
"What do you think of the new kids?" Ginny came straight out with it.
"I mean, they seemed nice enough. I wouldn't trust them much though."
"Exactly!" She said.
"I just think, that if we don't give them a proper chance, we might regret it." Hermione pointed out.
Suddenly, an idea struck me. "Do you think they are even wizards?"
"Of course they are or they couldn't be here and the hat wouldn't have sorted them."
"But, and hear me out guys, they don't seem to know anything of the wizarding world. They didn't know about spells or Hogwarts or who we were, and let's face it we've been pretty big in the news lately. Not to mention the fact that none of them had wands and that Nico kid passed out from apparating."
"I suppose it is all a bit strange," Hermione agreed.
Just then, the portrait opened and the two of the group that had been sorted into Gryffindor climbed through, talking quietly to each other.
"A hat stall between all four as well, I mean bloody hell!" Ron muttered, to which we all murmured in agreement.
"I definitely think Percy is one to watch." I told them. "I think he's quite intimidating if I'm honest."
Ginny raised her eyebrows, jokingly commenting "Harry Potter, the hero that defeated the 'dark lord' is intim-"
Before she could finish, the atmosphere in the room changed. We turned to see the two boys glaring intensely at each other. The look in Percy's eyes would be enough to reduce almost anyone to a quivering wreck but, to give him his due, Jason didn't back down. The atmosphere was charged, everyone waiting for something to happen, then, as quick as it started, the boys looked away and the tension level fell like it had been physically dropped. Unsure, people began their conversations again.
"On second thoughts," Ginny continued, "definitely intimating." We watched as they both headed up the stairs to the dorm, a truce seemingly agreed.
