I could slowly start to hear slight footsteps on the old creaky wooden stairs. Every step he took it got louder, louder, and louder. "Quick put the journal back!!" Serenity whisper yells snapping out of her frozen state. I open up the old wood drawer slowly so he doesn't hear the wood open, and throw the old journal in the drawer.
"What is all the racket going on in here?!?!" He yells at us. "N-Nothing sir" Serenity says lowering her head and making sure they didn't make eye contact. She acted calm but I could tell that she was terrified. "Whats the matter with you girl?! God just stop stuttering!?" He yells at Serenity coming closer to her. "S-Sorry sir" she says.
The next thing I know is his hand raised and Serenity on the floor holding her left cheek. 'Did he just SLAP HER?!?!!' I question myself. Then he left. Just like nothing happened. What a sick man. As soon as the door closed I ran over to Serenity. Slowly I take her hand away from her cheek and notice that there was a perfect red hand marked on the left side of her face. Teas began to blur my vision "Ar-Are you okay?" I ask "Y-Ya I'm fine"
Later that night we were getting ready for bed when we hear a blood curling scream coming from downstairs. Serenity's head snaps towards mine, I do the same to her. I sprint to the door and jiggle the doorknob. It's locked 'Of course it's locked dumbo your kidnapped!' and there's my conscience everybody say hi! The next thing I heard is a sound never want to hear again. BANG!! A gun shot. Serenity jumps I run over to her and put my arms around her in a warm embrace to keep her safe. She silently sobs into my chest while I tell her everything is going to be okay. Knowing that possibly be her very soon. Just thinking that she could be the one getting shot brings tears to my eyes. I wont let her leave...Never.
Serenity's P.O.V

I cried silently into Roberts chest. He was so caring. He kept telling me that I was okay and everything was fine. But I knew that soon I may be getting shot. Soon I heard Robert sniff a little. I tilt my head up to see tears falling down Roberts face. "You okay?" I ask him in a whisper "Ya I'm fine" He reassures me. Slowly I feel my eyes getting heavier and just before I closed my eyes I heard a silent "Goodnight Serenity I wont let anything happen to you I promise" Then I fell into a deep slumber.
