Promise (ending)

Happily the night went by fast so Serenity and Robert were well rested and were ready for the long journey a head of them. "Mornin'" Robert said while stretching "Morning" Serenity said rubbing her eyes. "You ready to leave?" he asked "Ya" she said tired still in her voice. And they started they're journey to get to their family.

After a hour of walking they got to a big river that could have been the 2nd Nile river and no way to get over. Did I mention that it was probably 12 feet deep? "Take my hand" Robert said holding out his hand. Serenity grabbed it without even thinking. Robert hopped into the river his pants now wet from his waist down. After Serenity hopped in. They started walking hand in hand, water splashing around the as they walked.

They got out soaking and continued on the path. Roberts hand had gone from Serenity's hand to being wrapped around her waist holding her protectively just as he did earlier. "Robert why are you always holding onto me so tight? I'm not going anywhere" Serenity giggled "I know I'm just worried that he may come again and I don't want him to take you away from me." he said. "Robert i'm not going anywhere" she said "Promise?" he asked worry in his eyes "Promise" She said smiling. A smile had crept onto Roberts face as well.

The day went on slowly and painfully. After Robert and Serenity's promise Serenity's back started to sting. The dirty water had gotten into her slashes and had made them painful the rest of the day. Night slowly crept up. Robert had found a good place for a fire and near a small pond so they had some water to drink. Suddenly there was a small growling sound "Sorry that was my stomach I guess we didn't really think the whole food thing through" Serenity said "Oh ya I think there might be fish in here you wan't me to try and catch one and roast it on the fire?" Robert asked "Yes please" Serenity said her stomach growling once more.

Roberts P.O.V

Yes I know it's a bit intense trying to catch a fish with nothing but your hands. Honestly I didn't really care as long as I get Serenity home safe and sound. I care about her a lot and I would do anything to keep her alive and safe. Behind me I heard a blood curling scream. My head snaps back there's no Serenity and off in the distance I see the old kidnapper dragging her back into the dark unknown forest. I start to run but my feet get stuck. I can't move. I hear a loud scream and a bang and that was the last i've ever seen of Serenity Lee (A/N: Lee is Serenity's last name)
