So sorry for the long wait. My professors went crazy this term. Maybe they thought since classes were online we had nothing else to do, so I pretty much ended up with all my classes having weekly quizzes and discussions. I'm nearly done now, though, so wish me luck. I'll try to update more of my fanfics from next week onward.

Thank you to all of you who remained supporting my stories. Remain healthy and remember to wear your masks when going out.

Within the first five minutes of the Genin running into the forest, screams followed. Whether the screaming Genin had been attacked by beasts or humans, there was no way to tell.

Team 9 cautiously continued running until they gathered some distance, ignoring the continuous sounds that echoed throughout the forest. Guaranteeing that no one, or anything, was around, the trio hid in the branch of one of the trees.

The leaves surrounded them like a curtain, ensuring they wouldn't be seen unless the person got close enough for the trio to notice them first. They crouched on top of the branch which was wide enough for them to form a triangle and still leave space in the middle.

"Now you can explain what you meant before, right?" Takashi had an expression of complain as he faced his female teammate, waiting for her to explain how they were all supposed to carry the Earth Scroll.

"So impatient." With a pout, [Name] took out both the blue Earth Scroll and one of her own white summoning scrolls. "It's simple really. We'll just make it so that only the three of us can access it."

The white scroll was an empty one with only the characters that formed the summoning circle drawn on it. "I brought some empty scrolls just in case. Now, it can come in use."

"So, the plan is to place our Earth Scroll within another scroll?" Renji couldn't help but crack a smile, stopping himself from laughing and causing too much noise.

"Mm-hmm. The proctor never said we couldn't do it." [Name] placed the Earth Scroll in the center of the summoning circle before using a kunai to draw a cut across her left thumb. "Your turn."

The brothers each took their own kunai and did the same, Renji slightly flinching at the sting. With [Name] moving first, the three pressed their bleeding thumbs on the marked blank space. Their blood moved on its own, forming a line of characters that connected all three points. With a puff of smoke, the Earth Scroll vanished, leaving behind one single summon character that covered the whole space in the middle.

"Like this, other than the three of us together, no one will be able to get the scroll. Even if we end up losing, our opponents won't get anything out of it." [Name] grabbed the summoning scroll and rolled it, then put it in her pouch.

"It's better this way. Like this, we can fight to our heart's content without having to worry about the scroll getting stolen." Takashi quite liked the arrangement. He was much more interested in fighting with strong opponents rather than having to be careful of others sneakily trying to steal the scroll.

Renji stuck his bleeding finger on his mouth as he stood up, "What's the plan now? We have no idea how many teams are around us and what their skills are. We don't even know if fighting them would be worth it since we have no idea which scroll each team has."

"Then, we'll just beat them all up until we find a Heaven Scroll."

"There's no need to go that far..." deadpanned [Name], "Anyhow, we can just set a trap, one that would only attract teams with the Heaven Scrolls. How strong they will be, well, that will depend on our luck."
