The words said by "Sakura" were too low for those on the balcony to hear. As such, there were some confused faces as they saw how Ino remained sitting on the ground while Sakura just stood by without making a move.
Of all those confused faces, Naruto's was the most prominent. "What-What's with Ino? And... And... Sakura-chan's acting kind of strange, dattebayo. But surely this is her chance. Go get her, Sakura-chan! Go!"
Shikamaru snorted, although he had no intention of telling Naruto the truth about what had just happened. It's no use.
Sakura's eyes had completely changed. She didn't make a move, but her face showed the glee of someone who had obtained victory. Truthfully, it would have both applied to Ino if she succeeded and to Sakura if Ino failed. No matter which ending was reached, Sakura's face would show happiness.
Whether it was really Sakura who was happy or Ino who had successfully taken her body who was happy, that was another matter altogether.
Knowing Naruto would not notice the problem any time soon, Kakashi stopped his cheering, "The energy from Ino's Mind Transfer Jutsu struck Sakura head-on. She's finished."
"!!!" Both Lee and Naruto looked at Kakashi in shock.
"Mind Transfer?! That means Sakura-san right now is..." Lee stared at Kakashi, hoping for a different answer, but he wasn't about to get one, "Aa. Sakura's spirit has been completely taken over by Ino. Ino is inside Sakura's body now. So... Ino's purpose is most likely..."
As if to finish Kakashi's sentence, "Sakura" slightly smirked as she slowly rose her right hand. With this, it's over. See ya, Sakura. "I, Haruno Sakura, wish to withdraw... from this match-"
"Don't do it!!! Sakura-chan!!!"
Naruto's outburst cut off "Sakura's" words, annoying Ino who was currently in control. "Tch. He's so annoying, that guy."
Naruto cupped his mouth, hoping that would make his words reach Sakura who was trapped inside her own body. "You've come so far! If you let yourself lose now to that crazy Sasuke-chaser, you'll disgrace women!"
Not sure how that worked since Sakura was also a crazy Sasuke-chaser, but oh well.
Ino found Naruto's struggle for his teammate laughable. Nothing he said or did could help Sakura at this time. "Like I said, those words are useless- Huh?!" What? What's this bad chill?
Ino felt a sharp pain go through her head. It was painful and cold and it was as if her brain would split into two. It was so painful that she bent down, holding her head.
Naruto is so loud!
Ino snapped her eyes open, not believing what she just heard. It was true that she agreed with that statement, but the problem was that she hadn't said anything to herself yet. Moreover, that was Sakura's voice.
This might be Sakura's body but at this moment, Ino should have been in complete control. Sakura shouldn't be able to tell what was happening in the outside world. She shouldn't have been able to hear Naruto, much less speak back about it.
And he's right... I can't lose, not to Ino...
"Sakura?! This can't be happening...!" Something like this had never happened before when Ino used her clan's jutsu. She knew it was possible for people to wrestle back control of their own bodies, but that was only when their spiritual power was much stronger than the user of the Mind Transfer Jutsu.
"What's the matter?" It was hard to tell whether Hayate really didn't understand there was something wrong or if he was acting like he didn't. "Are you withdrawing from the match?"
