The next day came quickly, the Genin unable to get any rest at the anxiety of the test to come. Most of them walked sluggishly towards the training grounds, falling asleep the moment they hit the ground.
Only Sasuke and [Name] stood still, not particularly tired.
The young teens had come more than prepared, bringing all their weapons. Each one of them, except Sakura, wearing their headband proudly on their forehead.
Naruto woke up a while later, still slightly tired, his sapphire orbs trailed towards his best friend who was quietly sitting beside him reading a book, completely awake.
"Are you all right? You should get some sleep, too, dattebayo." mumbled the Uzumaki groggily, rubbing his eyes. At his voice, the princess turned towards him, smiling once they locked eyes, "Heiki. I'm used to not getting much sleep after all."
"Used to it...?" wondered Naruto out loud, staring at her with widened eyes. He remembered every time he had begged her to play with him and she apologized and said she was busy. In the end, she would always come by later and stay by his side, but the boy saw that while he rested or when he woke up, he would always find her writing something and then a ninja would take it.
He frowned at the idea of [Name] always making some time for him when she had so much work to do as the [Surname] Head.
"Is something wrong Naruto?" asked the girl, waking Naruto from his deep thoughts, "I-Iie! I'm just a bit worried about the test we are gonna have."
[Name] wasn't exactly convinced, but opted for not digging in too much and patted his head, "Okay. You should get some more sleep before they get here. We'll get some ramen afterwards."
"Alright!"
Hours passed by and the Sensei were still nowhere in sight.
It wasn't until the sky had turned completely blue that Asuka and Kakashi finally appeared, acting as if nothing was wrong, "Hi fellows." "Good morning, everyone."
"YOU'RE LATE!!"
"A black cat crossed our path, so..." tried to explain the masked ninja, only receiving heated glares.
The turquoise-haired kunoichi tried to muffle in a chuckle, smirking at his discomfort, "Well, let's move on. Both teams will be taking the test separately, so let's get this over with."
The Jounin sent each other a nod and walked in opposite directions. The Genin were confused at first, but with no much choice, each followed their assigned Sensei.
"I'll see you later, Naruto! Good luck!" waved [Name], sprinting after her team.
Naruto waving back vigorously, "See ya in a bit!!"
Hitomi Asuka led the newly formed Team 9 farther away from their meeting point, stopping by some logs that were used for shooting practice and placed a clock over it.
"Alright. This alarm is set for noon, that's your time limit." spoke the woman without much emotion and took out two bells from her pocket, holding them up, "You have to try to take these from me before the time is up. Those of you who don't have one will be sent back to the Academy immediately."
Takashi frowned, knowing how hard it would be to steal something from a Jounin, but then his eyes twitched in confusion, "By the way Asuka Sensei, what does this have to do with not eating any lunch."
"Oh, that. Kakashi likes making it harder for his students so he tells them that on purpose. It doesn't really have anything to do with me or the test." replied the turquoise-haired ANBU, ignoring the glares from her students.
