Chapter Thirty
Home Away From Earth

*---*---*---*---*---*

Emma rounded the corner of the hallway her phone glued to her ear as she spotted the Doctor, Jack, and Rose all crowded around the console.

Jack had been with them for almost two months now. It was nice, just the four of them. They had a routine and a good running strategy whenever they got into danger on one of their adventures, which was always.

But right now, Emma was in danger or more like in trouble as she listened to her uncle Phil rattle off on the other end of the phone line.

"Emma, you've got to do something. He's threatening to invade Earth, again!"

"I'll talk to him, Uncle Phil," Emma reassured as she walked up the ramp.

"No, you need to go and see him."

"See him? I was just going to phone-"

"I know. Which is why I'm specifically telling you to go and see him."

Emma took a seat as the Doctor watched her curiously and Jack kept throwing her charming smiles. Rose, on the other hand, was silently laughing knowing exactly what the phone call was about.

"But a phone call's just as good," Emma argued, pouting. "We're going to see the dinosaurs-"

"Emma! Do you want another World War Three?"

"No," she sighed. "Fine, fine. I'll go and see him."

"Today," Phil reminded her.

"It's a time travel machine I can go-"

"Today, Emma."

"Yeah, okay. I'll go today," Emma replied.

"Good, I love you, see you soon," Phil said and she could practically hear the smile in his voice. First, she gets yelled at and then she gets told 'I love you' unbelievable, she thought as the phone line went dead.

"Yep, love you too," she muttered.

"Problem?" Rose asked, smiling as she leaned her arms down on the console.

"Big one," Emma sarcastically smiled back. She then looked at the Doctor with the cutest grin she could muster. "I need a favor."

He raised an eyebrow, "Why? What kind of favor?"

"I need you to drop me off in Mexico."

"Mexico?" Jack laughed, "why Mexico?

"Because Emma needs to go stop a God from invading Earth again because of her one-year disappearance and she still hasn't spoken to him," Rose happily explained, and Emma shot her a glare.

"God?" the Doctor asked, "are we thinking of the same one?"

"I hope so," Emma replied. "Because my grandfather's kind of off-limits with visitations at the moment."

Jack chuckled and Rose laughed.

"Alright," the Doctor smiled brightly. "Well then, instead of stopping in Mexico why don't we just take the TARDIS straight there?"

"You want to come with?" Emma asked, surprised.

"Haven't been there in ages, me," the Doctor replied, shrugging. "Why not?"

She looked back at Rose, the two sharing an unsure look before Emma hesitantly nodded, "I guess."

"Fantastic!" the Doctor beamed, starting to set the course, flipping some switches and pressing buttons on the console.
