(Eva has been walking for days at this point with no sign of land. As she walks, she scans the ocean with her eyes. She's able to see dozens of feet down due to using her mother's powers. She practices control of the water as she observes the many different marine life swimming about. Soon, she sees that she is unable to see into the dark zone of the ocean.)

Eva: I wonder what's down there.

Araru: In the darkest parts of the ocean? Would you like to see?

Eva: I would, but that means you'd have to bond with me again, right?

Araru: Correct. I can make your eyes perceive through darkness via light and dark elements. Then again, you still need me to maintain surface tension.

Eva: No, I think I've got it. And at worst, I can use ice.

Araru: Alright. Here I go.

(Eva's eyes turn iridescent without the gem sheen again. Her feet start to sink into the water, but she focuses and manages to halt her sinking. Unfortunately, her control over the water's surface tension is not very strong and it's like she's walking over the ocean with plastic wrap in between her and the water. Feeling imbalanced, she remains as still as she can. With the  being gone, the ocean moves naturally. She peers into the dark depths and flinches at what she sees. The reaction makes her lose focus and she falls into the water. She begins to struggle and her eyes turn back to crimson. Ice forms under her and raises her up and the water soaking her clothes dispurses, drying her.)

Araru: What was the matter??

Eva: Big creatures! Scary creatures!

Araru: You're afraid of those animals when you've fought these beings to the death?

Eva: I can't swim, they would have an advantage!

Araru: Silly girl...Would you like to learn how to swim?

Eva: Odd request...Are you trying to be like a father?

Araru: No! I was just being nice!

Eva: No need to yell at me!

Araru: Fair enough. I apologize. It makes me nervous to ask you. I did sort of ask from a fatherly place.

Eva: I appreciate the sentiment, but I don't need you to be a father to me. In fact, it's insulting.

Araru: I realize that now. Forget I asked.

Eva: Whoa, hey, hold on. I didn't say I didn't want to learn. Just don't try to be my dad.

Araru: Well...sure. I can do that.

(Araru lowers her into the water slowly and begins to instruct her on how to swim. She struggles a lot at first and he tries to be as patient as he can. He yells at her from time to time which is just met with sass on her part. Eventually, when she goes to swim on her own without his instruction, she doesn't kick hard enough and sinks quickly into the water. Without realizing it, Araru somewhat takes her body over and makes her swim to the surface and then creates a platform. Eva notices his take over, and immediately freaks out.)

Eva: Stop it! How dare you!?

Araru: I didn't mean to! It just happened!

Eva: "It just happened" our right foot! I knew I couldn't trust you!

Araru: Listen to me, girl! Back then there was a barrier that prevented me from doing just that! For the first year I tried over and over, but couldn't take you over, so I gave up! I had no idea this would happen!

Eva: ...I don't know if I believe you…

Araru: *Sigh* Whatever, girl. I understand why, but I have nothing else to say. If you don't believe me, then too bad for me.
