Harry stood under the mistletoe with Cho. Pain seeped throughout y/n's entire body. Why the hell wasn't it me? Was it something I said? Is it the way I look? Why why why why why. The picture before you changed before you and now stood Harry and Hermione dancing around the campsite, Ron nowhere to be found. Why was everyone else so close to him but not me? A sound began to rumble throughout your ears. Y/n? Y/n? With a blink of your eyes Harry stood before you, looking at you sitting on a stump close to camp. "I think it's about we switch out the necklace don't you think?" With a smile Harry began to take the horcux off of you. Hermione came over to the two of you and slipped out of Harry's hands into her own. You watched as she made her way over to Ron, your dearest cousin and practically brother, whilst slipping the necklace onto herself. She rested her head on Ron's shoulder and you could see the small but apparent smile that had crept onto his face. Having family around made things easier and lucky for you Ron had recently reunited with the three of you. Suddenly things felt as they did when you were still kids running around Hogwarts causing absolute chaos for your teachers. The good days when you never had to fear if your life would be over the next day or even if you'd get the chance to see what little family remained at your sides. "What're you thinking about y/n?" Harry gently sat next to you being sure not to push you off the stump. "Just.. the old days.. before all this." You stared at the ground. The old days where a crush on your cousin's best friend seemed to be the most daunting fact of your life but now seemed to minichle to your current situation. The four of your began to take down that tent. You needed to keep moving to even hold a fighting chance against the world that was now pinned against you. As you finished you noticed something moving amongst the trees. You silently alerted your friends as a group of men began making their ways towards you. They dropped Harry's name amidst their conversation and you knew in an instant that these were death eaters or at least a group working for them. Pure terror filled your body. What the hell were you meant to do. You knew they couldn't see you, Hermione made damn sure no one would be able to find you and yet in a way they did. What felt like hours of terrified silence broke out into pure horror. Somehow the charm broke they went sprinting after each of you and thankfully Hermione had enough brain cells to cover you, Harry and Ron collectively. Hermione hit Harry and disfigured him with a spell. Ron was hurt but boy dead and you were being held by Greyback himself, worried that in any moment you could be forced to become what he is today, a monster. They took the four of you to the Malfoy Manor, bragging in sorts about how they had gotten Harry Potter, the boy who lived. The Malfoy family emerged into the large room where their taunts were being made. There before you stood Bellatrix herself, the women who took your family from you without any remorse. Poor Draco was forced to make out if the boy standing next to you was Harry or not. He looked between the two of you. He knew it was Harry yet lied anyway in an attempt to keep you safe. Only when Draco stood back did Bellatrix begin to recognize you. Her eyes turned wide and a sinister smile grew across her face. "Well if isn't the y/ln girl. Haven't seen you sense you were a baby, how's mom and dad?" She let out a blood curtailing cackle as a single tear escaped from your eye. Harry made an attempt to reach for your hand only for you to pull away from him. If she saw any connection between any of you, she'd abuse it but it was too late. She'd noticed the way Harry stared at you and recognized as a gaze she once knew herself from a different time, practically a different world compared to now. "Take the Wesley and Granger to the dungeons. Greyback be a dear and hold this one down." She pointed her wand towards Harry. Maybe just maybe there was a way to get one of them to surrender information or the painful truth that they were unwilling to reveal. She stalked towards you, lifting her wand and beginning the first of many cruciatus curse that she would cast on you throughout the night. After hours of screaming and crying between both you and Harry she began to let up or so you thought. From her robe she took out a small rusty dagger. It looked like an infection waiting to happen. She lowered herself to your level, your body fatigued and unable to fight back after the hours of sheer torture you had just endured. "Now deery" she said as she slid the blade across your skin causing goosebumps to form "What should I remind you of? Your parents? Your friends who you'll never see again? Or maybe the fact that no one will ever love you". She began the long process of carving 'unloveable' into your left forearm. It was large and deep, something that wouldn't go away no matter how well you could take care of it. You almost didn't scream or cry at all. It felt as though all possible liquids and even your throat had been drained completely yet still a series of cries and soft screams emerged from your mouth. Harry screamed at the top of his lungs. He had to save. He had to do something at least. "Ready to give up now?" Bellatrix asked as she made her way over to Harry. "Tell the truth and she lives or continue to lie. It's your choice really." As she turned her back to return to you Harry began to let out the words 'Just stop. I'm-'. Before he complete his sentence the chandler above came crashing down on Bellatrix. Hermione and Ron made their way to you both. While holding on for what seemed like dear life, Dobby apparated you to the beach side where Bill and Fleur resided. Dobby had died only seconds after saving your life. A void filled the air. A life for a life had been something you were growing too close to understanding. Bill lifted you bridal style to the table tops in the kitchen so Fleur could set to work at mending your fresh wounds. After a long conversation with your new family member you laid on the couch for a much needed rest. That was all you wanted, rest. Just as you began to drift off Harry woke you with his humming. It was your favorite sound in the world and yet it never put you to sleep, only woke you. "Sorry didn't mean to wake you. I just wanted to keep an eye on you and um yeah.." Harry trailed off with his sentence avoiding eye contact with you ever so slightly. A soft chuckle emerged from your lips as you attempted to sit up slightly. "It's a good sight to wake up to so I don't mind". You stared lovingly at Harry in an attempt to get your feelings across to the oblivious boy who lived. "Y/n. This may seem dumb at our current point but... I like you. A lot. I was worried about how Ron would feel but at this point, after all that, I can't continue without you knowing... I love you". You lifted your body up to capture Harry's lips with yours. "You know I've loved you since fifth year. Glad the waiting finally paid off". You groaned slightly at the pain in your arms and sides and slid back down into the couch. Harry played with your hair until you finally fell asleep again, safe for just a moment with him at your side.
