Imagine getting harassed by your best friends everyday to do something as simple as laugh at their jokes. George and Fred has been relentlessly this year. The continuous teasing and attempts to make you laugh had reached an increasing level. What caused them to practically torture you was that they simply found out about your small crush on their younger brother Ron. What made it even more comical to the vicious twins was that anyone in Hogwarts would gladly date you yet you seemed to settle for their little mess of a little brother. To you however Ron was more than people gave him credit. He's was funny and seemingly dumb most of the time but when he got an answer right it was incredibly correct. You knew it was because of his relationship with Hermione. You also knew he had to have a crush on her. It was painfully obvious that Ron and Hermione had a relationship you and Ron wouldn't have. Just as you were being to slip into sorrow Ron himself interrupted your thoughts.
"Hey y/n you okay? You look like you've seen a ghost". "You know Ron, considering our school I've seen many ghosts today". You chuckled. Some of Ron's questions were dumb but none the less you continued to love him from a far. "Well what's on your mind then? You seemed all spaced out". He gave his crocked cute smile after which made your heart flutter a bit. "Oh I was just thinking about what pranks your brothers are gonna pull on me next". You smiled at him. It wasn't a complete lie considering that started your entire train of thought. "Do you need me to talk to them? I can't promise they'll listen but you know it's worth a try". "No, it's fine. As long as they don't push me too far it's fine. It's fun sometimes after all". You flashed Ron your award wining smile and threw a short goodbye in his direction. All that thinking was going to make you late for class. Ron on the other hand had a free period and set off to finding his older brothers to have a word.
"There you two are!". "Ah if it isn't little Ron how's the love life going champ?". Ron gave a heavy sigh to his older brothers. They knew he cared about you more than anyone else in his life outside his family but telling someone like you would have no effect. If you weren't already dating one of the talented guys who asked before him then what chance did he have at winning you over? "Look that doesn't matter, what does matter is the fact that you two have been harassing y/n. I get you're friends with her too and it's easy to play pranks on her but could you stop. The last thing I want is for y/n to get hurt in anyway and the only people causing her harm are you two currently". "Relax little brother". "Yeah y/n has already told what is and isn't cool. We'd never hurt her remember". Just like the Ron the twins once had a simple crush on you as well but neither pursued it especially considering Ron liked you long before they ever did. They respect his feelings more than anyone else. "I suggest you just tell her how you feel already. Every other guy seems to have the same train of thought. Might as well try". "I know but she'll just reject me. Plus I think she thinks I'm in love with Hermione". "I mean you two are close so it makes sense so how about you make your feelings obvious so there's no more confusion little brother". Ron sighed. He wanted to do badly. He thought of a thousand ways to tell you but always put himself down and believed nothing good would come of them do why even try. "Maybe soon". Lucky for you the soon would be that very day.
As you walked out of class you spotted Ron. A big smile and wave came from you and suddenly Ron felt his heart beat a thousand miles. As Ron got closer he became more and more clumsy. This and his untied shoelaces led to the moment of a new start for you too. As Ron took his final step towards he fell directly on top of you. Flustered and feeling like an idiot, he muttered out a thousand apologies while you on the other hand couldn't contain your laughter. He was an idiot but an idiot you loved. Maybe you should just give in I mean when would you get a better chance. You're so close already. Ron stood up and gave you a helpful hand. You thanked him and asked if he'd like to take a walk with you considering classes were done for the day and you both had little homework. You talked about your days. Each detail so small you both wouldn't remember the next day. The twins passed by you too and jokingly shouted "JUST GIVE IN ALREADY!". As they ran away in the opposite directions from you too. With that Ron looked at you and confessed his heart to you. "Bloodily hell. Y/n I like you. I didn't think I had a chance but I guess this is me finally caving and-". Before Ron could finished you leaned in and gave him a soft kiss. "You know if we gave in to our feelings a long time ago we wouldn't be in this mess". Ron laughed at you and grabbed your hand. You looked at the castle window and watched the sun set together on the start of your new adventure.
