ZHAO TURNED OUT to be a person. A very unpleasant person, at that. He was a commander of the Fire Nation, and Zuko seemed to strongly dislike him (for good reason). When the ship stopped at his port in the afternoon of the next day, a couple of guards roughly dragged me out and I found myself breathing fresh air. I hadn't expected to be outside so soon after my imprisonment, but I suspected it wasn't because they sympathized with me.
No, I was going to be interrogated. Again.
Or so I assumed, as I sat, hands bound, in a room with maps covering the walls and a TV on one end. I was held down by soldiers, but whether they were Zhao's or Zuko's I didn't know. What I did know was that Zhao was giving a horribly boring monologue that I didn't bother paying attention to.
Zuko was also present, as well as his uncle, whose name I learned was Iroh.
"So, how is your search for the Avatar going?" Zhao asked casually, like he was catching up with an old friend.
At that moment, Iroh knocked over a bunch of weapons on the wall, making them clatter and clang against each other as they hit the ground. I had a sneaking suspicion it was on purpose. "My fault, entirely," Iroh said sheepishly.
