In the short time Piper has been with that childhood best first Leo and her new friend Jason, she had already wished for more time.

She recalled in the mist of the battle that seemed like it was forever ago, the two
boys subconsciously glided towards Piper in hope that staying together would be some sort of savior.

Piper didn't even know if Jason or Leo ever talked before this cell incidence, but she wished they had known each other before seeing as the would have been the best of friends.

She was clasping both Jason's and Leo's hands, in hope that they would stay a while longer. She longed to her to know Jason better, to maybe have a better figure of a friend with him.

They all were leaning against the wall, too tired to move, but also not seeing a reason to fight. They were too weak to even move or talk. They're breathing was staggered, and Piper would almost feel all three of them dying.

She had been in the dark so long, that when the guards came closer to them with a torch, it stung her eyes.

Piper was too weak to process what was happening. She felt the guards pick her up form the ground, tie her hands together, and practically drag her to a pyre.

Only then did Piper realize, that they were going to be burned alive.

In all of Leo's years at the forges, he had never expected to die because of the fire because of his experience in it. But that all changed when they were tied to the big wooden sticks.

Leo shut his eyes tight. His skin ached with a burning sensation. The booming sound of yelling were not in a somber tone, they were happily cheering, yelling positive words at the death of a person.

Piper felt prickling needles all over her. Her face was clampy as the hot feeling slowly ushered its way us to her body. Her face, the thing everyone seemed to treasure, was melting. She no longer smelt of roses and pretty things, but now smelt of sick, twisted fires.

Jason couldn't feel anything. Physically, he could feel the heat creeping up his back, up his neck, up his legs, up everywhere. But mentally he was numb. He refused to acknowledge the face that he was departing, or that his friends were already departed.

Piper...Leo...

Jason hoped he said that out loud, but he will never know that he could only say it in his head.
