Crown Prince Aten Amarna of The Kingdom of Egypt
Magic Academy, year two - 16
✧❈✧"What a time to be alive, isn't it?" the museum curator said.
Aten nodded, pulling another golden artifact from its carefully packed box. "It certainly is, Mr. Hawass."
"They're just waiting for the next big discovery. Although, with as long as it's taken to catalogue Tut's treasures, at least it gives us a bit of breathing room." The man carefully took the small statue and set it on the table, writing a thorough description. "That's the last of it for today. Thank you for your help, your highness."
The prince nodded and set the lid back on the crate. "Thank you for your time and effort in preserving our history."
As the man finished up the last details, Aten turned to leave. It was still a bit light out as he passed through the museum, and he paused to look at some of the artifacts. A jackal sentry stood guard beside a sarcophagus, giving him a slight shiver as the dark eyes stared. He moved on to a row of chariots, avoiding the windows as he walked around.
There was so much history here - history that made up his identity. Ancient power and stories lived on in these quiet halls.
But he was disappointed. The tomb had been open nearly ten years now, and still no record of its curse had been found. The poor people who first entered had fallen ill, and some had died because of it, and still there were no answers.
The prince passed by a gleaming silver shield, his reflection not appearing on it. Apparently the ancient magic even worked against its own kings.
