Sabrina looked out the car window at the soaring towers of the Royal Academy with a broad grin. As much as she adored her home countries, this was like coming home. They drove up to the school and an attendant opened her door. Almost immediately she was flocked by her friends.
"Sabrina! You made it! Finally," Kana smirked.
She smiled and hugged two at once. "Sanjiya, Zahra, I missed you! Oh, Kana, you have to tell me about this nobleman you mentioned in your letters!"
The group went towards the castle with the rest of the crowd.
"Are you ready for our third year?" Sanjiya asked.
"Very," Sabrina grinned.
Together they went to the orientation, whispering about Prince Marc. Then they went to the dorms to settle in and unpack. By the time evening rolled around, the princess was exhausted. She collapsed in bed at ten o'clock and nearly slept through her alarm.
Getting up, she prettied herself up for the first day, wanting to look her best for meeting her peers again. She'd changed over the summer, and she hoped her countenance reflected that.
Gathering her bookbag, she left before her roommates to go to her first class. The halls were already crowded with students searching for their first classes. Being familiar with the castle, she went straight toward hers. At the corner of the hall were some girls that she knew, and she stopped to talk.
"Princess Ginevra, Lady Subira. It's good to see you," she smiled.
The other princess gasped. "Oh! Sabrina! Come closer, you have to hear the news."
Curious she moved closer, and the girls lowered their voices. "We just heard about the new professor. All the teachers are talking about him. He's the youngest to ever start teaching here."
"He's only twenty one! So you can bet there will be quite a few third year girls in need of an advantageous marriage that will 'need' a lot of tutoring in his class."
Grinning, she raised a brow. "Which class?"
"Government & Law. I have it first hour," Subira said excitedly.
"So do I," Sabrina replied. "What do you say we go take a peek?"
The girl linked arms with her. "Oh let's. Come on Ginevra, you can at least take a look at what you have to look forward to next year."
"Yes please." Going to Sabrina's other side, they rounded the corner. It looked like the professor was standing outside his classroom talking to someone.
Sabrina stared at him in utter shock. Her arms lowered, and the girls looked at her in surprise.
"Isn't he dreamy?" Ginevra whispered.
She didn't answer. The moment he met her eye, she felt a blush rise to her cheeks.
He seemed to trail off with whatever he was saying, and the other professor looked over his shoulder. He excused himself, leaving the pair staring at each other.
"Princess Leon," he finally said, stepping closer.
"Duke Cervantes." Glancing away briefly she corrected herself. "It's Professor Cervantes now, is it?"
He nodded, "It's official." Smiling, his eyes swept over her lovely features. "It's good to see you."
"And you," she replied, although she was internally screaming.
He seemed to shake himself from a trance and cleared his throat. "I suppose you need to get to your first class?"
She glanced towards his classroom. "Yours is my first of the day, actually."
"Ah," he smiled. Hesitating for a moment he asked, "Perhaps you would be willing to join me later for tea? Maybe in the conservatory?"
She nodded automatically. "If you'd like. We do have some catching up to do."
He swallowed, seeming a bit nervous. "Right then. I'll see you after classes then?"
"Alright." He reached out for her hand, and she willed herself not to blush as he kissed it. He then stepped back into his classroom, leaving her in shock.
"What was that?" Subira burst out suddenly.
Sabrina jumped a little, having forgotten they were there. "I um, we know each other. He's from Spain. Anyway, I'm going to go get a seat." Before they could ask more questions, she ducked into the classroom.
