WELCOME TO VITALITY SERIES #1
Prologue
"Icy, your mom's waiting for you outside!" Isha yelled, she's looking at me through the window.
My classmates were playing and were busy making noise outside of our room. I was the only student left inside the room. I'm an introvert, that's how they always describe me and I found it true. Hindi ako mahilig makipag-socialize sa iba. Wala akong galit kahit na kanino, I just don't like the idea of having friends. I wonder, how does it feel to have friends? Well, I guess not. All I want is a peaceful and quiet life and not a chaotic one.
I came back on my senses when one of my classmates tapped my shoulder. "Hoy, hinihintay ka ni tita sa labas!" Ziny shouted as if I was kilometers away from her.
Why did she call her "tita"? We were not close and hindi rin naman niya close ang mama ko.
"Nahihiya ka pa rin ba sa amin? Ilang months na tayong magkakaklase kaya 'wag ka na mahiya!" she said cheerfully.
"I'm not," I answered shortly. I was trying to minimize my interactions. I was also trying to avoid her because of the consistent high energy she radiates. I was afraid that I won't be able to reciprocate it, which might drain me.
I stood up and walked outside the room to
search for my mom. I knew she was worried as I perceived it through her tone when she asked me about school last night. Although I showered her with assurance, it didn't stop her to check me every time she gets the chance to.I smiled at her. A small smile began to be crept on my lips. "Ano 'yan, Ma?" I asked.
"Miryenda," sagot niya habang isa-isang nilalabas ang laman ng paper bag. "Kain ka."
"I already ate biscuits," I said.
She started preparing the food for me.
"That's not enough to give you energy, you need to eat more," she replied. She was smiling genuinely as she lightly pushed the tupperware near me.
I savored the food she cooked for me. It was heavy in the stomach so I just ate portion of it.
I really appreciate my mom's effort kaya kakainin at uubusin ko talaga iyon mamaya.
"Sige," she replied. She looked up to me when she was done keeping the tupperware. "Uuwi na ako, ah?" she gently informed. Tumango ako habang nakangiti. She then kissed my cheeks, and I waved my hands as a response.
