[Valentina's POV]

For the past few days I've been followed, stalked and continuously monitored.

Not by creeps, but bodyguards.

Thankfully, it's not just me who's weirded out by this new arrangement. The twins and Matteo also have security that follow them anywhere and everywhere they go except when we're all at home.

My brothers are not fond of these men in black following us any more than I am because they find this to be an invasion of their privacy. It's actually kinda funny to see Xander throw tantrums every morning when we step out of the house for school because they're always there in front of us.

At school, as promised, they, as in the bodyguards, keep their distance. Ales had assured me this new system will not affect or endanger my social life and he's stuck by his word. The guards stay close to school but camouflage with the surroundings so well that even I sometimes can't spot then in the crowd.

They are sincerely professional. Heck I haven't seen any of them even smile.

None of my friends at school have even the slightest clue about this. And I'm happy to keep it that way. I don't want it to be awkward. I don't want to answer any questions that end up me spilling the story about Jack. I like my new friends a lot but I'm not ready to share something like that with anyone outside my family.

I groaned loudly into my pillow.

It cannot be morning just yet. It simply can't. I just went to sleep. It was only midnight like a second ago. How can the sun be up so quickly? What kind of sorcery is this?

Did Harry Potter utter the lumos maxima spell?

If so, can Voldemort kill him already?

My hand reaches out of the comforter to grab the bitch of an alarm clock. I smack it hard against the furniture channelling my inner hulk to shut it.

Maybe I should sleep for a few more minutes?

"Val? You up?", I hear two consecutive knocks on my door.

For fuck sake.

Maybe if I don't answer he'll go?

"Nice try. I know you're awake. You just shut off the alarm clock I bought you", Elijah knocks again.

Dammit.

Maybe if I pretend to have fallen ill?

"Don't even think about it! You are definitely not skipping school today!", Elijah's voice comes blaring through the door.

Kill. Me. Now.

40 minutes later

As I walk into the kitchen I happen to catch Ales speaking to the others about something. I didn't catch the beginning of the sentence but my ears perked up at the name 'Leo'

"I tried to reassure him but he's insisting", Ales sighed.

"Who's insisting what?", I ask causally, dropping my school bag on the floor, going to open the cabinet to grab a bowl for cereal.
