Chapter 8

"Walgas pera!"

Nagrereklamo si Jiro habang ibinababa ang tray ng mga milktea sa harapan namin.

"Yeah, I hate this dare." Daryl murmured while taking a sip on his milktea.

"This is not a dare. This is a punishment." Liam smiled amusedly. "Pwede niyo namang tanggihan, eh. Mga duwag."

"Porket crush si Missy." Tinabig ni Kevin si Liam.

We're settled in a table for group, dito sa bagong bukas na milktea shop. Kumunot ang noo ko nang tabihan ako ni Erin bago bumulong.

"Gusto ka siguro ni Daryl, 'noh?"

Halos maidura ko na ang iniinom ko sa narinig. I don't even expect something from that guy! He's completely not my type and I saw him as a typical bossy and rich man. He's the complete opposite of the men I was simping from the novels I read.

"Including Jiro." Mapang-asar na ngumiti si Missy.

Why do they even have that kind of thoughts!? Ang imposible ng mga sinasabi nila!

"Anong binubulong-bulong nyo, oy." Liam interrupted.

"All about your ugliness," Missy fired back and rolled her eyes. Missy obviously rejects Liam everyday and I don't know kung bakit gustong-gusto pa rin siya ni Liam.

It was me and my girls, having a small time with Liam's boys. Because of this, we got a chance to get along each others. I was smiling the whole time they were talking about their lives. I guess I had a misconception about Liam's friends, seeing their clean mindsets and fun personalities. Mabait naman pala sila kahit papaano.

"Wala na'kong papa. Si mama nalang ang nagtataguyod sa'kin kaya, mahirap dahil wala akong kapatid..." Bakas sa boses ni Erin ang pangungulila. "Pero ayos lang! Andito naman sina April. Marami din naman akong mga kaibigan kaya hindi ako nabuburyo sa buhay."

"My life was...complicated." Sunod naman na nagsalita si Luis matapos uminom sa milktea cup niya. "I'm an illegitimate child, by the way. Bakit ko pa isisikreto eh halata naman kung paano nila ako ituring." He chuckled.

We shared our perspective and thoughts to make them feel at eased. Nasabi na nila ang mga mabibigat nilang pinagdadaanan and we all made each other feel free on reaching up someone during a breakdown.

Nang wala nang nagsalita, nalipat ang tingin naming lahat kay Jiro dahil siya na lang ang hindi pa nagsasabi ng tungkol sa buhay niya.

"I guess Jiro keeps his life super private..." Liam broke the silence. "Sa tagal 'kong kaibigan si Jiro, hindi pa'ko naka-apak sa bahay nila. He never tells me about his life. I'm not even sure kung kilala ko ba siya."

"Oo nga! Baka spy ka sa'min huh?" Biro ni Kevin.

Jiro didn't answered but just flicked a coin from the table. Kanina niya pa pinaglalaruan 'yon at mukhang wala siyang balak magsalita tungkol sa sarili niya. We respect his decision for keeping his life hidden and if talking about his status would make him feel uncomfortable, ay hindi naman kami magpupumilit.

I stared at him for a few seconds. His side view was just mesmerizing and stunning. He slowly moved his face from my direction, giving me a glimpse of his ocean eyes. An unknown feeling always hits me everytime my eyes met his.

I'm curious about him.

Only if I could break the barrier...

"Hey guys? I guess I have to go."

Lumipat ang tingin ko kay Daryl na tumatayo na sa upuan niya. Buti na lang at naalala ko kaagad yung hoodie niya!

"Hey wait!" I took out his hoodie from my tote bag. "Here's your hoodie...uh, thank you..."
