Chapter 11: The Elemental Voids

  After some time, we went out of the factory. We all walked back to the SSA. We enjoyed the scenery around us. I thought back about my conversation with Klon. An elemental Void. That's what I am. Perhaps I am a rare Void. The one and only Void who can control three elements. The species of the Shadows are so complicated. I told my friends to go back and rest. They all nodded and went back. I walked to the National Library of Shadows.

Once I stepped into the library, a librarian came to welcome me and was amazed to see a SSA agent to come and visit the library.

"Welcome, Mike," the librarian said. "I'm Anne."

"Hey, Anne. Wait, how do you know me?" I asked.

"Well, I'm kind of like a fan of the Infinite team, if that's a thing," she replied.

"Ok, can you show me the history of the Shadows?" I asked.

"History of the Shadows? I thought you guys already know those?" she asked.

"Well, I just want to look into the deep history of it," I said.

"That part is only accessable to the higher rank of the librarians," she replied. "But you're in luck."

"Huh, and why's that?" I asked.

"Because I have a high rank as a librarian," she replied.

"Oh, so am I able to go in there?" I asked.

"Sure, a person like you from the SSA have access to it. Come, I'll take you there," she said.

She led me towards a place located at the top floor of the library. The front walls and the door was made of glass. There was a card reader beside the glass door. She put her card in front of the card reader and the door opened.

"The secrets of the Shadows are here" she said.

"The librarians never read it?" I asked.

"No, we were forbidden to read it," she said.

"Let me guess, the mayor made that law?" I asked.

"Yes, he did," she replied.

"How did he even get it?" I asked.

"He never told us," she replied.

"What about the access card?" I asked.

"He gave it to me because he trusted me that I wouldn't let anybody else read it," she replied.

I looked into the room and said, "But you did read it." I looked back to her, "Didn't you?"

She looked down to the floor, "Yes, I did. He only allowed me to read it."

"What did you find out from there?" I asked, testing her knowledge on what she read.

"I don't understand it, but what interest me the most is that the rare species of Shadows are on Earth. Are they here?" she said.

I looked around me and said, "Let's go inside."

We went inside and closed the door.

"You are looking at one right now," I said.

She looked at me and then laughed, "You're kidding me, aren't you."

"No, in fact I know what you are thinking right now," I replied.

"That's impossib-. Wait, how do you know it?" she asked.

" I didn't read the books, because I am one of them," I said.

"Then, why do you need to read the books if you already know them?" she asked.

"I only know some of them," I replied.

"Oh, what do you want to know? I know all the books in here," she said.

"Something about the abilities of the Voids," I replied.

"Sure," she said as she took a few books about the Voids.

I flipped opened the books and read them. When I reached a page where it shows how the Voids unlock their bending abilities, that got my attention. It said that the Voids will get their bending abilities when the time comes. I saw the varieties of abilities from the elements we can control, there were a lot of them. I went to the next book and it contains the eternity war between the Shadows and the Shnaks.

I read it. It somehow shocked me, as the Shadow civilization did things that humans have yet to do. They sent secret agents to harvest the power of black holes. It's origin is unknown and who knows wht power it has. As they harvested the power of the black hole by using some sort of special material. I studied it and saw that is was called Galaxium. Galaxium is an extremely rare mineral only found in asteroids which have came out from the black hole. Somehow, the asteroids came out of the black hole containing galaxium in it. There was something going on with the black hole few light years away from Shadow Prime. Every year, two asteroids come out from the black hole. We harvest the galaxium inside the asteroids and make equipment. The secret agents had gigantic mirrors of galaxium and surrounded it. They charged up a piece of galaxium fragment and threw it into the mirror. Few minutes pass by and they harvested some of it's energy. They also put a tube connecting to a nearby station.

The secret agents departed and charged up their cannons with the dark energy provided by the black hole. They fired it on the Shnaks and they suffered many casualties.

After the Shadows saw the destruction, they forbid themselves never to use it again as too much power brings corruption. The Shnaks knew this matter and went to find the black hole but since it is covered by the mirrors, its presence is undetectable. The black hole has been undetectable ever since.

"Interesting, huh?" Anne asked.

"Yeah. Never heard of this war before," I replied.

"It's because to prevent the next generation to grasp hold of its power. It will bring chaos," she said.

"But a person with self-control will be able to," I said.

"If they are strong enough," she replied.

"I see," I replied.

I got of the place and said, "Alright, thank you. I will come here time to time."

"Sure, you're welcome," she replied.

She opened the door and I went out of the room and towards the entrance of the library. As I walked out of the entrance, the strong cold breeze hit my face. It's weird how the shield around the city is able to let the wind and rain pass through. The technology we have here is crazy. Just then, I grenade rolled by. I looked down and saw it.
