Testing Fate 2/3

Surgery day

Colleen POV

I zip up my hospital bag and start walking downstairs to Josh who is getting the car packed as well. My parents are stayin at my house looking after the kids. I walk by the kids rooms as they are still sleeping. I pat kisses onto their doors as I go by. I see my parents standing in the front hall hugging Josh. My mom is a mess crying but stops as soon as she sees me and comes to hug me. " We will come by tonight with the kids if Josh says you are up for a 5 minute visit ok? We love you Colleen" my mom says. "Love you too" and I hug her and my dad back. Its 530am and we have to be at the hospital for 6am. Josh then grabs my hand and we are off. We make it to hospital and check in. I change into hospital clothes and get put into a bed to wait for surgery. Josh stands beside me the entire time. A nurse is prepping me with an IV bag and she asks that all my jewellery be taken off. It is not allowed. I take off my wedding , engagement and trinity stone band and pass them to Josh.

Josh POV

I look down at the rings in my hand and take my necklace off and string them on it and put it back around my neck. " I will keep them beside my heart" I say as I squeeze her hand. The nurse smiles at us and finishes up with Colleen. " Okay Mr Evans we are going to take her now. I will give you a minute" she says. I look at Colleen and she smiles at me. " love you babe...I will see you soon" i say to her and kiss her lips while holding onto her face. " Love you too Josh" Colleen says and the nurse starts wheeling her away. As soon as she cannot see me anymore I start to cry. Our lives are in the doctors hands now. I will wait until they call me thats its over. I keep playing with her rings while I wait. Rachel texts me and tells me to call her when she is out and safe. Rachel just had her baby a few days ago so she cannot come and it is killing her. My parents are flying in tonight to be with me and help us. I cannot wait to see them. I love our family as they help Colleen and I through this time. "Mr Evans" I hear the doctor says as he approaches me. "Yes" I say as I stand and walk towards him. "Colleen did well in surgery. We think we got it all but will still test to make sure with biopsies from the organs we took. She is in recovery and will be brought out in 15 minutes or so." he says. I nod and say thank you. He smiles and walks away.

They finally call me into the room. She is still half asleep. She has tubes everywhere and an oxygen mask on her face. They have her wrapped in a warm blanket and she looks peaceful. I walk over to her with tears in my eyes as I grab her hand she turns slightly to me. "hey baby, you are all done. Doctors said you did great. How do you feel? Sick? Nauseous?" I ask her while rubbing her cheek. She weakly says "I am ok" and closes her eyes. I wish I could hug her.
