Unbelievable

Colleen POV

Its almost Halloween and Olivia is staying with us at our house while Rachel and Matt spend a weekend alone. We are decorating the house and making crafts with Lilly while Olivia and Noah watch. These are some of the days I dreamed about having a family for. Everyone was having a good time. Josh was finishing a video with Arnold that day but he said he would be home soon. The last couple of days I had a cold. I wasn't feeling that great today either but I figure I could relax more when Josh was home to help me. I kept the kids busy until it was time for Noah and OLivia to have a nap. I brought them up and took Lilly out of her playpen while I was upstairs. Lilly was helping me make cookies when I heard Josh come in. "Ah there are my girls" he says as he kisses my cheek and then Lillys. "We are making cookies daddy" Lilly says. "I see that. Can I eat them all?" he asks jokingly. "noooooo" she says laughing. I smile and put them in the oven. I then get the chili off the stove for Josh to have for lunch/ He sits at the snack bar in our kitchen and tells me about the funny video him and Arnold took. I am laughing away until I feel like I am going to be sick. I run to the bathroom in the hallway. Josh is not far behind me. "Colleen your cold is progressing into the flu baby" he says as he rubs my back. "I guess so" I say. "I am going to go lay down ok?" I say to him. "Of course" he says.

I go upstairs and I feel sick again. I run to our bathroom and barf again. Josh heard me again and wanted to make sure I was okay. "Colleen did you eat something this morning or last night?" he asks. "I don't think so" I say. Then suddenly I think about what else it could be and all the colour drains from my face. I sit down.

JOsh POV

"Joshua, you don't think..." Colleen starts saying. I instantly know what she is going to say. "NOOOO Colleen please say this isn't what I think it could be" I shout. "But in Santa Monica Joshua" she says. "I am late by two days but thought it was my bodys way of getting back to normal after the baby" she says. I start backing away. The colour is gone from her face. The colour is gone from mine. "It can't be Colleen, we tried so many times when we wanted to get pregnant and we couldn't get pregnant without the hormones". I say. "I am going to the store now" I say and I run downstairs and into the car and drive to the pharmacy for the pregnancy test as safely and fast as possible. It felt like a blur as I drove right home. I ran back up to Colleen and said "here" as I passed her the test. She walked in the bathroom and we both sat on our bed and waited the 5 minutes. We held hands, we were both in shock. Colleen walked into the bathroom and turned right back around crying. "Joshua" she says and just by the tone I knew what she was gonna say. I felt sick not because I didn't want another kid but because of the terrible experiences Colleen had both times. I cannot believe we did this to ourselves.
