Holiday Fatigue

Josh POV

We go into the Ballingers house and I sit down with Lilly. Instantly Colleen goes into the kitchen and starts baking with her mom. This is tradition. However knowing what I do about Colleen being pregnant and standing on her feet all day, they don't mix well. I sit quietly in the living room entertaining Lilly until its time to put her to bed after dinner. Colleen hasn't stopped or eaten anything. I walk back out of the bedroom after putting Lilly to sleep and go into the kitchen to talk to Colleen. "Babe you have to eat" I say wrapping my arms around her. "I will. I just need to finish these cookies for the party" she says. I look at her and Gwen looks at her and Gwen says "enough Colleen. Go eat now". She turns around and sits down to eat. She looks tired. I rub her hand every once in a while as I sit beside her . She finishes her dinner and we go out to the bonfire as people start arriving for their annual Christmas party. She loves her family and it makes her so happy every year to celebrate in SB with them. Everyone is congratulating us which is so sweet. I grab Colleens hand and she is ice cold. I throw her my sweatshirt and a huge blanket and we snuggle together. I ask Rachel and Matt how it is to be new parents. Rachel says she loves it but is tired. Matt just says "ditto" and everyone laughs. "When is the next one then?" I say jokingly. "uhhh check back with me in two years. Labour was hell" Rachel says and smiles. Colleen pipes up and says " You did great" and smiles.

Colleen POV

It is late and I get up to go to bed. I know Lilly will be up early tomorrow for Christmas so I excuse myself and go to bed. Josh follows behind me and cuddles with me as its been a long day. I am not feeling well right now but I don't tell Josh because he will be angry that I did too much. "Thank you for the Christmas gift today baby" Josh says as he nudges my ear. "Thank you" I say back smirking. "What do you hope for?" I ask Josh. "A healthy mom and baby" Josh says. "Ha ha...of course" I say. "No I am serious" Josh says.

Josh POV

Christmas morning comes and Colleen is not in bed. I think she must be with Lilly as its 730am. I crawl out of bed and Gwen knocks on my door. "Colleen is in the bathroom and she says she needs you "she says with a worried look. I walk into the bathroom Colleen is pale. "whats wrong hun?" I say rushing up to her." I feel weak like I did before" she whispers. "Where are your meds the doctor gave you for your vitamin B?" I ask. "In my bag in our room. Can you grab them for me please" she asks. I run and grab them. and bring them back to her. She takes two as directed and we sit and wait.. I pick her up and bring her to the couch. "This is where you are staying the entire day Colleen" I say. Colleen nods.
