Temporary home

I let out a soft hum as I slowly opened my eyes, gentle rays of sunlight from the window heating the bed to the perfect temperature, Nanako snuggled into my side. I smiled as I pushed myself out of bed, carefully as to not wake her up before padding into the kitchen and starting the tea pot, humming softly to myself as I dug out eggs and vegetables for breakfast, chopping the vegetables first and then getting started on the eggs and ham.
After getting everything cooked to my best ability, I put a salmon on for Nanako, leaving my food at the table and taking a second serving, wrapped safely in cling wrap and left my apartment and to the next door over, gently knocking. I snickered as I listened to the classic sound of an anime character getting up in a hurry before the door was flung open, a sleepy Naruto opening it. "Ye- eh? (Y/n)? What are you doing here?" I chuckled as I presented the food to the boy, a wide grin on my face. "Hey Naruto! Sorry for coming over so early but I kinda made too much food so I wanted to give you the rest! If you want it anyway." Naruto's eyes practically exploded from his head as he stared at the food in my hands, his mouth watering as he took it. "T-thanks (y/n)-chan!" I chuckled as I waved my hand slightly. "It's all good. You could just pay me back by showing me the way to the academy tomorrow?" I presented my best puppy dog eyes, Naruto laughing slightly at my expression. "Sure thing! I'll come get you around seven thirty alright?" I nodded in agreement, shooting the boy a peace sign before making my way back into my apartment, a wide grin on my face. "Time to eat!"
------------------------------------------------------------
I laid on my back on the sofa in the living room my eyes set on the ceiling, the only sound in the apartment being the scratching of a pen on paper. "This is a bit weird.." I hummed simply, turning my head to look at a clone of myself who wore a white lab coat, her hair set in a professional style, the look greatly clashing with our matching light blue polkadot pajamas. "It's definitely odd." Clone me hummed before clicking her pen, her eyes lifting to mine. "Maybe it would be better if I looked like a different person?" I sighed softly as I sat up, rubbing my eyes slightly. "Yeah. I might still be talking to myself but maybe it would be a bit less awkward." I heard a poof and I lifted my head to look at my clone, my eyes widening slightly at the sight. "So, is this any better?" There my clone sat, although now she looked identical to Ayano's mother Hana who back home is an actual therapist. She wore a dark blue pantsuit, her shoulder length pastel pink hair was pulled into a professional half bun, two small black horns protruding from her hair, just behind her bangs. Her stormy grey blue eyes staring into my own. "Now then (y/n), lay down and relax." I nodded softly as I laid back, never taking my eyes off of the woman as she leaned back in the plush chair she was resting in, folding one leg over the other. "Now then, tell me what's on your mind." I closed my eyes, pointing my face back to the ceiling as I took a deep breath before releasing. "Well.. you know the full story already. I just.. I don't know what to do from here. Do I risk changing the storyline and lose my only advantage? Or should I act as a mysterious background character?" The clone, I'm going to simply call doc hummed slightly, writing something before speaking again. "Well, my suggestion is try to blend in as well as you can. There's really not much that we can do to change the storyline without disrupting everything and potentially preventing us from returning home. What are you going to do with Rairakku?" I sighed softly as I looked to the bookshelf where the still floating bead holding rairakku sat. "That's.. something I've been meaning to think about. I can't just let her roam free, the Ninja will attack her. If I seal her inside of me then I have no idea how to get her back out without dying. And I also have no idea if she would even be able to live once we get home. I mean, we don't exactly have chakra there." Doc nodded slightly before standing up and walking over to me calmly. "(Y/n), I know it's not the answer you want but I think the best thing is to seal Rairakku inside of you. At the very least until we figure something else out. I mean who knows, people could already be able to sense her chakra and we definitely don't want anyone to know that she exists." I sighed softly, giving doc a nod as she walks over, plucking the floating beast from the bookshelf before coming back over, helping me pull my shirt up as she placing the floating orb above my stomach speaking simply as her hands sign out seal. "Meme style- sealing!" I squeaked in surprise when she slaps the bead into my stomach, a strip of flex tape appearing on my stomach, the two of us watching in complete confusion as the flex seal sinks into my skin, dissappearing completely. The two of us sat in silent shock until Doc yelps and poofs out of existence, my own eyes widening as I felt my stomach twist and crumple before my vision went completely black.
------------------------------------------------------------
I jolted in panic when I came to, throwing myself off of the wet ground as my blurry eyes scanned the area around me. "Where.." my vision cleared causing me to choke on my own saliva at the unfamiliar view of a grassy area, my body lying in the center of a shallow pond. I turned my head slightly, noticing that I'm in the center of what seems to be an atrium. The sky was pitch black, not a star to be seen aside from the moon shining onto a single sakura tree. I pushed myself to stand, slowly wading out of the pond and over to the tree.
Once I got closer I realized they were multiple limbs that seem to make a kind of spiral staircase leading up to a large hole up near the top of the tree, The hole being illuminated by a soft orange glow. I took a deep breath and then started up the steps, every step making me feel lighter and lighter as I went until finally I made it to the top, The view of a very soft looking nest meeting my eye with a single sleeping purple bird in the center. The bird was a little larger then an adult human. I slowly made my way into the nest hearing the bird coo softly before lifting her head, the two of us meeting each other's eyes. The birds eyes seemed to glitter slightly before she smiled widely, sitting up and holding her wings out. "Mama?" I blinked as I stepped closer, hesitantly nodding. "Good morning Rairakku. How was your rest?" Rai giggled childishly as she bounced in the nest, stretching her wings happily. "It was great mama! Can we play now? I want to play!" I chuckled softly as I sat down in the nest, patting the spot in front of me. "Hold on Rai, come and sit with me okay?" The bird nodded enthusiastically jumping to the spot I patted before sitting down like any bird, her wings tight against her body. I smiled at her enthusiasm, giving a short nod. "Good girl Rai. Now, we need to talk about some things okay?" Rai nodded enthusiastically as she shoved her face in my lap, causing me to chuckle softly. "I really don't know what I'm doing so, let's try our best together Rai. I'm sorry for what I've done." Rai looked up at me, blinking owlishly. "Huh? It's okay mama! I forgive you!" I smiled, ruffling the feathers on her head slightly. "Let's just hope you still forgive me once your older, okay?" Rai nodded happily, before sneakily hauling me onto her back, hopping out of the tree excitedly, opening her wings and attempting to fly away from the nest. "Let's play now mama!"
"W-wait Rai! Do you even know how to fly?!" And just like that, we plummeted straight towards the ground, Rai's screams of excitement and my screams of fright.(Was that rushed? Yes. Sorry! Anyway, I'll see you cool cats on January 14th 2021!)
