Elsie POV
The pain was all over my body as if someone twisted my body and broken my bones into pieces. I tried to move my body to erase the pain, but it was totally a bad idea. Only then I realized my hand and right leg was wrapped with a bandage. I gazed at the unfamiliar surroundings, but it only caused me to groan in frustration since I can't recall anything.
The door suddenly being pushed from outside. A guy standing there looking at me with a surprised expression.
"Love, you're awake." His surprised expression was replaced with a happy look in an instant. Before I could say anything, he cut me off, "Don't move, let me call the doctor." He rushed out of the room.
"Love?" I knitted my brows, don't understand anything that he said earlier.
A moment later, the guy came back with two more people followed from behind. I finally figure out that I was in the hospital judging from the outfit that clutched onto my body and two persons that entered the room with medical's uniform.
"We will do some checkup first." The doctor informed the guy while coming closer. He checks my eyes and does some basic checkups. I just adhere to it without saying anything as my throat hurt me.
"Wa-water," that was the only word that managed to skip from my throat. The helpful nurse immediately grabbed the empty glass on the nightstand and filled it with the water before helping me to take a sip.
"Thanks." My voice sounded weak.
"How are you feeling, Mrs. Anderson?" The doctor greeted me, a genuine smile on his face.
I looked at him with a confused face, "Mrs. Anderson?" I repeated what he called me earlier. "Why are you calling me with that name?" I questioned him, thinking that he might address me with the wrong name.
There was a sudden silence in the room due to my question. They exchange a look while I'm lying on my bed observing their movement. The guy stared at me with a shocked face and no word was heard until the doctor let out a sigh.
"Did you recall anything that happens before you're here?" The doctor inquired, the smile on his face earlier faded away, and it replaced with a serious look.
I tried to recall anything that happened before I was in this terrible condition but failed. "No, I don't remember anything. What happened actually?"
"You were in the accident, and you had been in a coma for the last two weeks. You are safe but the injury on your head caused you to have some memory loss. Don't worry, judging from your condition it won't be long-term. We will do a further check-up about that."
"Two weeks?" I was stunned at his remarks. I turned to look at the guy that called me with the weird nickname 'love'. He stood there with an emotionless face but his eyes were staring deep into mine.
"Mr. Anderson, can we talk in my room?" The doctor spoke, breaking our eye contact.
He didn't utter anything but walked away to the door. The doctor and the nurse did the same thing afterward, leaving me alone in the room with so much confusion.
"What's going on?" I mumbled alone. My hand automatically massaged my temple as a sharp pain hit me when I tried to recall some memories. It was totally blank.
"Wait, just now the doctor called him Mr. Anderson and called me Mrs. Anderson. Why did I have his surname?" My eyes widened and my mouth parted. "We are husband and wife?" I blurted out with disbelief.
"Yes, we're husband and wife." I turned to look at the source of the voice with a shocked expression still on my face. The same guy entered the room again.
"When? How? Why?" I dropped him tons of questions like a bomb.
He walked closer to me until he reached beside my bed. He stood there with his hands in his pockets. I studied his face and finally figured out something.
"Wait, I know you." My mouth parted at the time I finally recognize him.
"You remember now?"
"Yes, you are the rude guy in the ice-cream café!" I remembered how he scolded me in the café when I accidentally bumped into his niece.
"You kidnapped me to your penthouse and wait-" I groaned as the pain suddenly hit my head again.
"You force me to take care of Andrea!" I spat with so much anger.
"What the hell are you talking about?" He shook his head and punched the wall which caused me to flinch.
"Why did the doctor call me with the same surname as yours? And why did you say that we are husband and wife? That was a joke, right?" I tried to brave myself and ignored his outburst.
"Because we are married for real, and we are officially husband and wife, not only on the paper but with mutual feeling." He enunciated the words clearly.
"What?!" I was in shock. "What mutual feeling are you talking about? We can't get married if we hate each other! I will never agree to be your wife. I hate you!" I raised my voice as I started to feel irritated.
"Don't say anything that you will regret when you get your memory back someday."
"I won't regret it. I know you well. You-you are-"
"I'm what?" He interrupted me.
"You're the devil!" He smirked upon my statement.
"Maybe I can tell you something to convince you about our relationship." I looked at him waiting for him to continue his next sentence.
"You're pregnant, our baby is inside there." He pointed at my stomach.
"What? Impossible!" I yelped, my hands immediately touch my stomach, trying to feel if there is really something inside there as he claimed.
"I will call the doctor if you don't believe me." He suggested and headed directly towards the door, ready to get the doctor for me.
"Did you rape me?" I managed to ask before he walks out of the room.
With his back facing me, he answered, "You just hurt my feeling, love," he then stepped out from the room closing the door behind him.
I don't know why, but I felt guilty asking him the last question even though I was sure that I hate him.
