Elsie POV

"Why daddy isn't here? When we can have our breakfast together again?" Looking at her pout made my heart sank. She was right, it has been a few weeks that we don't spend time together, even for a short breakfast.

"Maybe he will be here later?"

"He will wake me up if he is here."

I lifted her up carefully to the chair, making her sat on it.

"Are you talking something bad about daddy?"

We both turned to gaze at the source of the voice as we didn't hear any footsteps approaching.

"Daddy, daddy, daddy!" Andrea squealed, standing on the chair, clapping her hands gleefully, as though she hasn't met him for years.

Just in a swift minute, Dexter stood next to her chair and she jumped onto his body, trusting her daddy to caught her small figure.

"Have you finish your work, daddy? You're finally not busy anymore?" She buzzed him with the questions.

"Not anymore. Sorry, sweetheart. Daddy was busy with work for the last few weeks. I promise I will stay for breakfast after this, okay?"

I observing their interaction, feeling bad deep down as I was the reason he spent less time at home, just to make sure he was out from my sight.

"Don't pull that face."

A wrap from his arm snapped me out from my deep thought, he was now standing in front of me with Andrea still in his embrace, that girl clutching into his neck adorably.

"Morning kiss." He whispered, raising a brow. Before I could process his statement, he pecked my lips with a quick kiss.

My face tinged with pink as Andrea's giggles filled the room. I wasn't angry at his sudden action, instead, it caused me to smile sheepishly.

"I'm hungry, daddy. You can kiss mommy again later, okay? Can we eat already?" The naughty look that clouded her face made both of us burst out laughing.

"Alright, daddy will continue with that later." Dexter took advantage of the situation; I gave him a playful eye-roll before taking a seat next to Andrea.

Right after that, he placed Andrea on the chair before taking a seat across from both of us. Lucas was out to settle some of his personal things today, so he wasn't here in the mansion.

"Mommy, you eat only a little. Come on, daddy, give more to mommy. She needs a lot of food, remember?" She really talked like a nagging parent. Sometimes, looking at the way she behaved, I can't help but wonder how does Dexter's sister looks like, probably a chatterbox like her; the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

"Yeah, love. Why don't you eat?" He turned his gaze at me, waiting for me to respond.

"I couldn't..." I clamped my mouth, preventing whatever that threatened to come out. Before it was too late, I quickly sprinted to the toilet.

"Daddy, is mommy sick?" I heard Andrea's voice from behind but I was too busy to handle my business.

After spilling out everything from my tummy, I sat there due to the dizziness. I pressed onto my temple, hoping that it will disappear soon and I could return to the dining room with the unfinished breakfast even though my appetite vanished.

"Love, are you okay?" The door being pushed from outside and Dexter appeared behind the door.

"Yeah, just normal morning sickness. I'm a little bit dizzy." I admitted to him the truth.
