Olivia only sustained minor wounds, so she was out of the hospital in two days. Her mother didn't even bother to show up, not that she wasn't welcomed or anything, she just felt too good for this little outing.

I guess even after knowing this was what her mother did, it still enraged me, and that just meant that Olivia was going to get stuck with the fucking medical bills. She was officially eighteen which meant if her mother wasn't going to offer, it was all down to her.

She had an injury earlier in the year that she had to pay for- not which she was still paying for. But this one would cost her a lot of money in itself, I couldn't watch her be in debt already at the age of eighteen.

Whatever money I managed to score over the last few years from the orphanage I could use that to help her. Worst comes to worst I get on my hands and knees and ask Emma for help, I don't want it to come to that.

It wasn't even like Olivia's mother was poor either, they had money and lots of it. I don't understand how a mother could watch her own child suffer, I couldn't help but get mad over just thinking about it.

One early morning in the hospital, I left before Emma had woken up and dashed to Olivia's house. I was somehow convinced I could convince her mother to pay the damn bill. I knocked on the door, "Ms. Benson, it's Charlotte, I am a friend of Olivia's," I spoke through the door. I knew she was home.

"She isn't here," a blonde woman answered, not at all what I expected. She was pretty, older looking, I expected a wrinkly old hag.

"No, I know, um- I was just, Ma'am I don't know if someone informed you or not, she's actually in the hospital," I stuttered out.

"I am aware, she asked me not to come," she spoke, fixing the bracelets on her arm.

"And you are okay with it?" I asked, it was out of my ranking to be asking that, and it was totally unfair of me, but I wasn't about to be nice.

"I suppose so, is there anything you need Charlotte," she was getting impatient.

"Her medical bills, they are rather high for someone like her to afford-"

"Why don't you get your mommy to pay for them then, I hear she makes a lot," she barked.

"Because Emma- my mom isn't hers, and it isn't her responsibility even if she can afford it, you are her mother dammit, listen, I don't care what is happening between you guys, if you want your daughter to be on the streets by the time she's twenty keep up with too good for my daughter act. She got into the car crash because you stressed her out. God how blind are you? You are driving your daughter to death!"

"That is not fair," she countered.

"Not fair?" I laughed, "You know what's not fair, constantly crying yourself to sleep, because that's what she does, she cries, she doesn't admit it, but I hear it! And she doesn't need the added stress of you failing to be the mother you need to be, yet she gives you chances that's not fair. Watching her break herself so you can finally be there, yet you aren't. She asked you not to come, you didn't. She wanted you there, and you are too blind to see it!"

"I am going to ask you to leave," she said, slowly closing the door, "you have a good day now Charlotte."

I was fuming, I was mad, and I knew my words hit her, but whatever, it was her move. If she wanted to take it with a grain of salt that's all her. I won't teach her how to be a mother, her move.

Checkmate bitch.
