The Unforgettable Thursday Lunch

AhSi did not mind at all when his gank decided not to join him for lunch today.

In fact that even make things simpler, he thought.  He loved his brothers to bits, but they can be very nosy and asking too much about something that he does not understand and dying to find the answer himself.

"AhSi, you here again " Shancai timidly asked when she saw him standing outside the corridor of her classroom.

"Are you looking for someone?" She would not assumed he came to talk to her a again.

XiaYou who just coming out from the class stopped by Shancai when seeing them, " Shancai, are you going to have lunch with Daoming Si? " she wonder confused.

"No, of course not XiaYou! How could you think..." Shancai hasn't finished her sentence when AhSi interrupted her , " Actually, if you don't mind you both can join me for lunch ,...err no I meant , can I join you two for lunch instead ?" AhSi braced himself. Then quickly added " I told you this morning, I brought too many dumplings from home. I'd like to give some to you and they're more than enough for three people".

"Perhaps it easier if we just find the place to eating them together rather than I take them out from the bags here". AhSi feelings confident.

" Well, okay I don't mind, ... you, you don't mind too right XiaYou?" Shancai answered.

"It's fine with me. But Daoming Si,  we are not eating at the cafeteria, we usually having our lunches  at our special secret place". Explained XiaYou still try to figured it out how serious Daoming Si was. This is Daoming Si we're talking about, the that Cool and the most popular boy in the entire school. Surely he would saying that he was joking at some point. But no, he seemed genuine.

"it's okay. Anywhere, I will follow you both" AhSi replied quickly, he didn't want to lose his chances if Shancai change her mind.

"Let's go!"

Three of them walking to the direction of school backyard as AhSi thought they would. Other students stared at them while they're walking together and giving them that funny look.

Daoming Si was get used to with the amount of attention people keep throwing at him all the time, but not the case with Shancai and XiaYou, soon they started feeling uncomfortable.

"AhSi , I feel people starring at us like I have done something wrong and you are the Prefect who will taking us to the headmaster" said Shancai quietly.

(Yes I agreed Shancai, you done something wrong to my brain, now it didn't work properly anymore — AhSi talking to himself)

"Shancai and XiaYou, I got used to it, I understand you probably not. And if you like to heading  there before me, you both go first, I'll catch you up " AhSi offered.

"But, you wouldn't know where our place is ", uttered Shancai.

"Of course I kn,...I mean I don't. But  I can see you where you both walking to" Phew, I almost blow my cover, AhSi thought.

" you both walk like turtles, I can easily catch you , and I am also quite tall, I can see you from a miles away" AhSi chuckled happily.

Not long afterShancai and XiaYou sat down at their favourite bench, Daoming Si came and without hesitating sitting next to Shancai on the left side of the bench.

Eagerly he opened his bag and taking out 3 boxes of packed lunches, then straight away handing two of them to Shancai and XiaYou.

"Like I said, no worries, they're all vegetarians dumplings. Carrots, cabbages, bamboo shoots, sweet potatoes, spinach and ricotta. I also have some with prawn and *lobsters filling if you both like some ." Daoming Si explained and offered them more options.

"Wow, thank you Daoming Si, these are look amazing and tasted so good!" XiaYou almost shouted after took a bite.

"Call me AhSi, just like Shancai called me" smiling AhSi.

{This is surreal, but with dumplings taste these good, I won't complaint , XiaYou thought}

"AhSi, your dumplings really are delicious. Today we only bring something simple. I feel ashamed to share with you our humble sandwich as Wednesday was always our busy day and usually exhausted when we gets home.So we didn't have much time to prepare stuff for Thursday lunch". Shancai mumbled while munching her tasty lunch.

" But of course, it is only polite and fair if we offer you some of ours too, ... well only if you want them" she offered AhSi her cold beef mustard sandwich.

"Shancai , of course I would like to have try some of your .... WHAT— BEEF SANDWICH!!! " AhSi surprised and shocked.

Shancai misunderstood Daoming Si reaction and quickly trying to take the sandwich back from him " it's fine, I know it won't be up to your standard" she said. But Daoming Si refused to hand it back and bring it up high, so Shancai can not reach it. Shancai resigned . "Up to you, don't say I did not warn you "

"Listen, Shancai it's not what you thinking. I just surprised you eat beef. I thought, ....hm I thought you are a vegetarian. That's it. I will definitely eating whatever you make" o dear what kind of statement was that.  Daoming Si face so red obviously flustered .

XiaYou coughed " Ehem," suddenly she feels like a third wheeling amongst them.

"AhSi, what's giving you the idea of us being vegetarian?" now Shancai turned to be surprised.

"Oh that . Ah nothing. Never mind. I was just guessing." AhSi feelings embarrassed even more now. Try to change subject quick.

"Anyway, did you say you both are always busy on Wednesday, why is that?" AhSi trying not to sound too obvious, although he really curious.

XiaYou voluntarily answered " well, we have Baking Club every Wednesday lunch time. Then after school finished we must clean the room properly because we haven't enough time for cleaning during lunch time"

[BAKING CLUB... brilliant haha of course! Why I didn't thought of that. I worried for nothing]

"Ah yes, Baking club. I remembered now Ximen told me at the party , you are the one who's running it. So, I am expected you bring something you bake to my party on Saturday. No excuses!" Daoming Si back to his usual demeanour from the outside ( but a mess in the inside).
