The unexpected question

His body stiffened. He wasn't sure where to put his hands, he didn't want she's thinking he was disrespectful. He put his hands gentle on her shoulders slightly touch her back. He did asked for a hug but when his wishes granted, he lost it.

Shancai still hugged him. He felt good.

Daoming Si POV 

" will you be my brother? "

Was is that a question? I must hearing it wrong?

Do I have to answer that? I had been trying so hard to get to know her for the last two weeks. Guessing about what she likes she doesn't like. Been lying to the boys, to Mr Chu to get a chance to be close to her. Finding any excuses under the sun just to be close to her.

All those efforts for what AhSi? He asked himself.

Now, she has given you a privilege position being her brother.

Isn't that given you the right to annoying her, to teasing her, to taking after her, and to protecting her?

Surely, he should be jumping for joy now. Why he didn't grab that opportunity with an open arms? Why was brother sister's hood relationship scared him?

He couldn't answer.

Shancai POV 

Shancai felt his body tensed. Oh, no. I am embarrassing myself.

What was I thinking?

" will you be my brother? "

How could I asked him such stupid question. I carried away because he just saying something nice. He probably saying those words to so many people, he is can be a gentleman when he wanted, I knew that now. He is probably pity me now. How embarrassing. What should I say now. Arghhh.

Of course first thing, I must stop hugging him.

" AhSi, sorry. Forget it, i ever asked that question. I was carried away. I don't know why I did that. I know, you won't!" Shancai face redden. She let it out some nervous laugh.

" you better go now, before I say something more stupid ".

" Shancai,... I -"

" go, go ! " she pushing his body away .

" AhSi, just go. "

" ... okay, okay, but I need to tell your mother first, that's I am going,  it's only polite. " Daoming Si told her.

Shancai opened her front door, as they they were standing on the outside of her house all this time.

" Ma, Daoming Si here and he's leaving now ! " she shouted.

Mrs Dong rushed to the front door, " oh Daoming Si, don't you want to stay for drink ? "

" No, Ma. We just had a drink and he needs to go home no, his friends waiting ." Shancai interrupted him, and gave Daoming Si a stern look.

" Actually yes, my friends waiting for me. Thanks for the offer. I come again next time. "

He bid good bye and leaving their house with a big question in his heart. He still thinking about Shancai request and why he couldn't answered it.

After Daoming Si left , Mrs Dong asked Shancai rather curious  " are you two are fine? Not having arguments or something, you both looked flustered and I saw you looked upset at him. "

"Of course we are. Look, Daoming Si has given us a box wonderful selection of snacks from their family exclusive cafe , It taste so good , like heaven. Come one , let's have it ."
