Quite a few days had passed since Dragx had finished reading the Mage codex. The information he gained from the tattered old book greatly helped him in understanding the world. The greatest difference Dragx had found between Earth and whatever world he is currently living in was true Magic power! In this life he, like many children grow up on fantasy stories and folklore.

So as a fully grown sane 'man', Dragx had usually tossed these stories about fire-breathing Dragons, man-eating goblins and pointy hatted wizards that can summon storms with a chant and the waving of a stick, to the back of his head.

He would normally think to himself that those 'Dragons' were actually Dinosaur Fossils, those Goblins were probably a reclusive tribe of inbred deformed people, with crazed cannibalistic traditions and those wizards were just a couple of old farts who figured out how to manufacture gunpowder and make said gunpowder go boom to frighten commoners.

In fact the only reason Dragx believed he was in another world and he had not time travelled back to the 5th century was because of the many strange-looking creatures and people that there was no record of in the period of the dark ages.

However, after witnessing a street brawl where a Mage turned a man into a pile of meat paste by simply chanting a few unintelligible words and waving a glowing wand, Dragx realised that this world had Magic!

Dragx just couldn't help but wish to study this Magic! After all his previous life's goal had been to discover a new source of power. He wanted to know how it worked and what are it's limits. Does it follow the natural laws of physics or does it break them? And if Magic power did break them, what were the consequences?

Dragx had a thirst for knowledge that every average person from the modern era of Earth would have when in such a world. After witnessing Magic being used in action, Dragx began to collect as much data on anything Magical, fortunately the Adventurer's Abode was a shop that housed a few scrolls and books on the matter.

Now that he had received the Magical codex, all of his mental energy had been poured into reading it hoping to make better sense of the world.

In his research he discovered that Magic is a phenomenon which was once thought to be only accessible by the Magical creatures of the world. In that time humanity was at it's lowest state, humans where easy prey for the beasts and slaves for other intelligent races that were born with innate Magic power. Due to this humanity was naturally on the path to extinction.

Fortunately the first Mage who became the first king of humanity realized that humans could use magic, however they needed to have a material to pour their Spiritual energy into and to chant the ancient divine language to summon and weild the power of Magic.

Though not just any material can enable this. One would have to find material would be a tangible form of the elemental power that they are most attuned with.

The Founding Father of magic also discovered that every magical Beast possessed two Crystals within their bodies. One of the crystals was a sphere and the other was shaped like a hexagon.

The Crystal which was shaped like a hexagon was the Magical Core of the beasts. From what Dragx could understand, this Core allows them to control and regulate their Magic. Whatever element the beast was born with would have the same Magical core.

When a core is extracted and crafted into a Magical Artefact, it is known as a Magical Focus. By pouring their spiritual power that possessed a certain affinity into a similar elemental focus their magical energy would then be released. The Mage would then chant the divine language to control the released Power.

The spherical crystal was the soul essence of the beast, this Crystal contains their souls and powers their bodies. This Crystal was completely useless to humanity when it came to harnessing Elemental Magic.

Under the orders of the first Mage Humanity fought back effectively against these Beasts and Magical races and in a few centuries, humanity came together and formed villages, towns, cities and kingdoms. To protect the larger human settlements magical wards where often used. It has been fifty thousand years since then.

According to the codex, there are 4 main types of magic.

There is Pyro Magic, Aqua Magic, Aero Magic and Terra Magic. These were the most common types of Magic though there are rarer types of Magic such as: Eletro Magic, Dark Magic, Light magic and so on.

Sometimes different magical beasts of different elements mate, this causes there to be a mixture of the elements.
Such as a Aqua type beast mating with a Aero type beast, their offspring would be Ice elemental beasts With an Cryo Magic Core.

A human's Magical affinity is usually determined by their soul types, these people would also have similar personalities, for example a very short tempered person would most likely have a fire affinity though this is not absolute.

A Mage's affinity can be chosen by genes. For example the heirs of the Magical Noblity would most likely be born with their parent's affinities. These people are known as High Nobles, those who's magical affinities can be passed through their bloodlines. This type of genetic affinity also makes their control and power double that of a normal mage.

Sometimes High Nobles would marry into specific families of who possess compatible bloodline powers. As a result of such a Union, the offspring is born with a mix affinity much like the beasts. For example a Magical noble of wind marries a Magical noble of water, their child would be a powerful Cryo Mage. The child would also be able to use Aero and Aqua magic separately.

Though not all humans have the potential to cast Magic. These people are known as commoners. A Mage and a commoner could have a child that can use Magic, however the chances of this is quite low and unpredictable.

Sometimes the offspring of such a union could also be born with Magic but the child wouldn't have an affinity. These Mages are known as failed mages because of there inability to cast Elemental magic.

Despite his research, he couldn't find much about this branch of Mages it was obvious that they weren't held in a very high regard as the usual Mages. It seemed as if they were a type of a Scholarly Mages, who brewed magical potions and inscribed mystical symbols.

Based how they are usually described in books, and how they are treated by the rest of the magical community, Dragx couldn't help but pity these Mages. He understood why they were looked down upon by the Magical community. In a medieval world where humans are under constant attacks, immediate combat strength is placed above all else.

While Dragx was pondering on this Magical world he found himself living in. He was also sitting around a table absent-mindedly stuffing his mouth full of oatmeal porridge. Steam wafted from his bowl, diffusing the sweet aroma of the honeycomb his mother had sprinkled into it through the air.

Noticing Dragx's robotic movements, Efanachica couldn't help but smile. By now she was very familiar with seeing her son having vacant and glazed look in his eyes that was strangely similar to an old man reminiscing on his past.

"Dear, hurry up and finish your breakfast before you're late for School." She warned.

Dragx didn't really hear much of what his mother had said, but he did hear School and late. His eyes once again regained the look of a living person as he rushed to finish his meal.
