Lynx's eyes weakly open to snow falling around him. A large glass dome trapping him in the cold, there is a frozen pond next to a snowman with a fedora and suit, and a large tree covered with lights and ornaments in the center of the dome. He stands and walks up to the glass and gently rubs the fog from it, outside the dome lays him with a small child, looking about the age of six, sitting beside him with a bouquet of odd plants and a few flowers.
"Papa, papa.....wake up papa!" She eagerly shakes his arm, "Papa, I made something for you!" Her excitement gained no response from the fallen man. "Papa?" She continues to try waking Lynx up, to no avail, Cupid walks in worried about the child, who should be asleep. Cupid puts a hand on her shoulder and she looks at him.
"Cupi! Cupi! Look what I made," She holds up the assortment of plants and giggles, "I just need to wake up papa!"
Cupid fakes a smile, " They're lovely dear, I'm sure he'd love them, but remember how your mother went to sleep?"
She nods, "The jacket guy said she'd sleep for a long time," The child frowns, realizing what Cupid means, "Is he sleeping like mama?" She asks, Cupid weakly nods.
"Yes dear, he's sleeping." Cupid says, lightly rubbing her back
"Mama still hasn't gotten up though, how will papa open his presents tomorrow if he's sleeping?" The child buries her head into Cupid's shoulder, "What do I do while they sleep?"
"I'm unsure dear, what would you like to do?" Cupid asks
She looks at him, " We can't celebrate Christmas without them, so we'll wait until they wake up!"
Cupid gives her a worried glance, "As you wish dear."
Reaper appears behind Lynx, it stands there staring at the scene outside the dome for a moment before turning and walking away. It's footsteps alerting Lynx to its presence.
"What the hell is going on!?" Lynx yells at it as it walks, "Don't walk away! What was that?!" He shouts, worriedly, "What's going to happen to that kid?"
It turns back and notions for him to follow. As Lynx walks, ponds of ice melt into pools of a dark bubbling goo, the ornaments shatter as the lights dim to a dark red.Reaper merely continues its walk, unfazed by the changes. Lynx follows, staring at the shattered colorful glass surrounding the now lightless tree.
Reaper stops in place, Lynx bumping into him. "What kind of prank are you pulling"? Lynx growls, not fond of his situation. Reaper doesn't answer, it merely stands there, staring at something, only increasing Lynx's impatience and irritation.
Lynx rolls his eyes and attempts to walk past him. Reaper slides its foot into Lynx's path, as Lynx falls Reaper backs up with a dark frozen smile. He looks up, ready to fight, until he realizes what he fell onto.
His face goes pale as he crawls backwards in a panic, "W-what the........WHAT KIND OF SICK JOKE IS THIS?" His voice laced with fear.
A gravestone lays before him, with his name and the words 'The man who had everything but a heart.'
A deep solemn voice rings through Lynx's ears.
"As time passed the joy in you faded. Eventually you perished from the cold within. I warn you Lynx, change." The voice says, Lynx looks around for Reaper, a snowman in its place.
Lynx wakes up with a jolt and lifts his head off his desk.
"What the hell..." He walks out of his room to Char trying to decorate cookies, but failing horribly. He holds back a laugh and shakes his head.
"Charlotte, the icing goes onto the cookies, not your clothes."
Char looks at him with a smile, "Really? I thought I was decorating myself."
"From the looks of it, you might as well be," He walks up to her and grabs one of the icing tubes, "Let me help."
" Alright, but first." She lightly puts the cap on an icing tube, sets it down facing him, to his confusion.
"What are you doing?" He tilts his head as she puts a finger over his mouth.
She slams her fists down on the tube making icing blast out at him, " There, now we're both decorated~!" She laughs and pokes his nose, " Welcome back, Mr. Grump."
Lynx glares and snaps, squeezing his icing tube on her, "Thanks, but seems you're too sweet."
She grins and tackles him, "So what were you doing in your room? Don't tell me you were working?"
Lynx shakes his head, "No, I think my work is giving me nightmares."
Charlotte frowns and hugs him, " Never fear! For the icing covered creature is here, I shall protect you from all nightmares!"
Lynx laughs, " You dork."
